Is it possible to achieve 10k in a b18c1 with just valvetrain upgrades? (cams, springs,3 way angle job) Im not saying ill always be redlining but our blocks can take it right??..

Sure they can take it.. for a very small increment of time. Why would you want to push the engine that far anyway? It probably won't be making any power. Most engines stop making power before even the stock redline. Just because you're revving higher doesn't mean you're making more power.

Valve train will give you the ability to do it, but it'll wreak havoc on your lower end. Your pistons / rods / etc were only made to spin at ~8k reliably. You'll greatly increase your chance of tossing a rod.

Why do you want to rev to 10k anyway? Your motor is going to stop making power around 8k and its a steep drop from there, unless you completely change the way the motor breathes and tune it out its going to be pointless.

i just think its time to get alot more top end but thats def true, im sure ill be happy stopping at 8k once i feel the power difference with the new parts

if stock cars were meant to rev to 10k, they would.

for some reason it's a magical number to people that are new to hondas.

to find out how high you can rev, get your parts, then get it tuned. you will see where your power is. your goal is to keep it in that area.

It's like when you want your girl to start sucking your dick... You can't go too far and say "bitch! just suck my dick would ya!"

ehhh... i was just making a simile. you dont have to agree... or not agree lol

im pretty sure though, that saying that the way i typed it to 90 percent of women you would probably NOT get what you asked for.

i might try it some time though anyways... cuz it's not like i'll ever meet the entire 10 percent of women out there anyways... that's damn near impossible... doing the math i think thats about 300 million-ish?

I promise your rod bolts will snap after the first few times you hit 10k. Only rev to 10k if your engine makes power that high. Otherwise you're just a tool.

its the opposite of Nike's slogan.

Just don't do it!

buy a bike its cheaper than the engine work you'll need and overall will get you low gains compared to a turbo.

so i think i'm misunderstanding something... he built that car so he could do big smoky burnouts till his tires melted off? i guess if i could do 4 wheel burnouts i would too....

i think its only FWD.. unless he has some crazy good brakes. or two different gas pedals for two different drive trains(front and rear, which i doubt).

its awd.. probably separate front and rear.

you can see the rear tires being smoked, as well as the power and possible rev difference with how it fishtails like a boat under acceleration, the rear overpowers the front a little bit and tries to get ahead.. Also he could have one gas pedal, probably 2, or 1 with a cutout option. Shut off the rear and ebrake it.
