Alright so heres the deal, talked to a lady today who has a 91 crx dx that she really needs to get rid of, supposedly its rusty but the motor runs. Now I have never owned a crx nor ever worked on one, so when I go there on wednesday what type of things are crx specific that I should look for, if any?

when i bought mine I looked at if the sunroof worked (but urs wont have one), rear defroster, heater, surface rust or major rust, if it has ever been crashed (how much), look at the engine code (d16 a6= good, d15 = dx), look for any oil puddles under the car, and last but not least; look for some rare jdm parts and sell them to me:) hope that helped

O and when you drive it it should feel like your a badass mofo or a fuel saving cool person if a dx

clean shell with bad motor > rusty shell with good motor.

engines are easy to fix, rust is cancer.

Sweet well thanks for the advice guys, Ill take some pics while im there tomorrow too and see what everyone thinks, but if she doesnt want very much ill probably just pick it up. Wish me luck!

alright so I went and checked it out. It looks a lot better that what she said it looked, which is good for me. Some things that are wrong that you will see in the pictures: tires are flat and most likely will have flat spots, there IS rust but not as bad as I have seen before, definitly fixable, couldnt get the hood open because the hood latch was frozen basically, battery is dead so I am not sure about the motor (which im not worried about because I have a b18 in my storage unit). Some good things: the interior was almost mint, everything except the drivers seat was minty fresh. The rear hatch was minty, and overall the car is good looking (for the owner and what year it is). Anyways, ill stop rambling and get to the best part, the pictures:

Overall what would YOU pay for this gem?

gem? not so much.

$300 tops.

lets see....

$800 for ls swap...
$800 in paint and body...(maaco)
$300 integra wheels....
$200 for suspension.....

you can put together a decent car for under $3,000....or you can find something in a little better shape.

Thats very true, except let me explain my situation: I already have the ls swap, my family owns a DuPont paint shop, and its really not that bad overall, the pictures really dont give it justice. Besides I plan to put some money into it anyways.

well, i know you have the swap. i was just tallying up the total investment. if you can do all the body work at no cost, then i say go for it.

haha yeah I didnt state that earlier because I wanted to see what others thought. I just sent her the offer so we will see what she says, she seemed like she really just needs to get rid of it.

 let us know if you get it and what for! it's definitely got project written on it, but it's not the worst rex ever, either. looks like it hasn't been in a life altering accident or anything...

I..... think... those rims are rare! well at least I have never seen them in my whole life. they're neat!
