is my 2k Si revving too high

I cant remember what RPM my Si ran at when at about 60MPH before the engine swap. Its revving between 3500 and 3750 in 5th and im not sure but it seems pretty high for a stock B16A. And 80 is damn near engaging VTEC at close to 4500. Ive got stock rims with standard sized tires. I know first gear is pretty short but I cant tell if its coming up faster as well. Anybody know what it should be at or is this normal?

sounds about right to me... you should be over 4k at 80 mph, all the b16a transmissions are geared low.

my b16a crx would be in vtec range at about 90-95 mph.

get a SOHC if ya want not to rev as high and get the mpg, I glady trade ya lol!

If you want to get the RPM's lower, swapping out for a GSR or Ls transmission would be easier than swapping gears.

the gsr's are geared pretty much the same i think. They rev at about 4000 at 70

Thanks for the feedback. I'm ok with where its at as long as thats where its supposed to be. I bought a bone stock Si with a ton of miles for something that gets good gas mileage but doesnt bore me to death while I'm not on the GSX-R or in the Camaro. Swapped it with a low mile JDM B16A from tigerjapanese.com and had to convert it to OBD2 so I just wanted to make sure everythings good. Thanks again

I have a GSR and I'm at 4k at 80. My girl's 00 si is at 4,400-4,500 at 80
