Hey guys, I recently did a OBD2 GSR Swap on my 90 Integra. I am using my OBD0 LS Harness, a Sub Harness that I ordered from eBay for Vtec/knock/O2/IAB, OBD0 PR3 JdM ECU, stock LS OBD0 Dizzy with one bracket cut off to fit in position, my stock OBD0 fuel rail and injectors. When I finish the swap, added oil, coolants, and adjust my clutch. Somehow the GSR motor seem to almost crank over but never did. I can hear fuel coming. Acourse, I had premium gas in the tank.

The motor seem healthy, as it wanted to crank over but it ju st won't. Can someone out there help me out because I am stuck and getting really frustrated.

Thing that check:
1. Unplug fuel line from fuel filter to see if there gas. There are gas coming.
2. Check dizzy. First there were spark and now there isn't. But dizzy work. Tested on another integra and just recently use 3 other dizzy that I am for sure still work. Still no spark.
3. Tried with stock PR4 ECU and JDM PR3 OBD0 ECU. No luck.

* can it be my sub harness because that is the only thing that I did not plug up to the ecu yet. I know if those are not the problem because they are sensor and people tell me that that's not the problem.

your ecu needs to match your electronics.

the easiest thing to do would probably be to bring both to obd1 specs. get an obd1 ecu and conversion harness, and get obd1 electronics for the alternator, distributor, and injectors (if you aren't using the resister box)

looks like he's running all obd0

it wold be better overall for obd1.

If the car doesnt even crank check your battery terminals and your battery could be dead/dieing. You can jump you starter to see if that works, but it will just tell you if your starter is dead or not.

also plug in the sub harness you want to have all your sensors plugged in to get it to start properly along with checking your grounds.

agreed, too many people go replacing stuff for a no-crank condition that has nothing to do with the car not cranking...

when your motor wont even crank, you have very few options to look into. a bad ignition switch (as long as the dash lights come on in the "II" position, you can jump the starter with a screwdriver or push start if it's a standard.) a very dead battery (push start if it's a standard, jump start if it's not.) and a bad starter (push start if standard, take off and have tested at your local auto part store if it's not) round out the most common. in order i'd suspect your battery, then starter then the ignition switch. the one anomaly that would prevent the motor from cranking however is a slipped timing belt (or broken belt.) the pistons and valves wouldn't like trying to occupy the same space, and thus wouldn't crank.

however if by "it wont crank over" what you mean is "it cranks over fine, just never fires up," then you check for fuel, spark then compression.

It crank like it will start but does not fire up. Battery is working because that battery is my hatchback daily use battery. I have not plug sensor yet. Will do it later once the car fire up unless some in here say that that's the problem then I'll plug it up. I am running all obd0(ecu, harness, tranny, fuel rail, injector, dizzy). For vtec, knock, and o2, I use a sub harness from eBay. Obd0 ecu is pr3 jdm which plug right in with my plug at the passenger side floor. Dizzy is modified to fit into position by cutting one bracket off. Everything set as far as I know. I don't seem to find anything missing except one of the sensor at the manifold because there is two, I ignore one.

I am piss off now that it been almost a month of failure. Hope I can get that thing running soon. I know it might only something small but can't find the problem. Please help me out.

At times i have known the 02 sensors have causes a no start.

Grounds. Battery, thermostat, and valve cover.

and have you taken one of the ignition wires and hooked it up to a spark plug outside the engine and see if it sparks. Makes sure its grounded and don't hold it because its tends to shock people.

Then check your main relay and ecu.

I know your fine with running the LS dizzy since I had to lob off a lobe when I cooked my coil pack one day far away from home. Couldn't get the coil pack out so I used the LS distributor after using an angle grinder to modify it.

also that distributor can be fried, obd0 honda distributors have a way of ruining their owners day/week/month. have you checked for fuel pressure? is your firing order correct?

I did check for firing order.
This is how I do it though (the ghetto way):
Stick a 4-head screw driver into spark plug wire #1 and put it near ground on frame(a bold on the frame). Have someone crank the engine while I check for spark jump.
My method show no spark. I check fuel and there is fuel coming to the fuel filter. Haven't check to see if fuel is coming out of injectors yet.

So far, someone rewired one of my OBD2 GSR Dizzy to OBD0 Plug and it still don't work. Tried OBD1 Dizzy internal(Coil, Modules) in OBD2 Dizzy rewired and still don't work also. Put OBD1 Dizzy back and test on 94 integra and it work. I'm thinking something is wrong with my Sparking.

My neighbor told me that they had problem with no sucess cranking also and is due to bad ground. So far I have only one ground wire. The one on the tranny. My neighbor had 3 on his 94 GSR. One one the back of the tranny, on the side of the tranny, and the head engine one. Could this be the problem? Still haven't tried it out.

Another thing, my O2 isn't plug in. This refer to Z6CRX comment. Is that really a problem because it is a sensor only.

So far, all my dizzy are confirm working but no spark when in my engine... weird.

So wait your just rewiring newer distributors now. Find out if the OBD0 distributor just has a cooked coil, check it on another obd0 car, or run through the steps in a repair manual to check the coil.

OBD0 distributors are not compatible with obd1 or obd2, you can swap internals or rewire, but the must be used with the appropriate ecu.

No, the rewire dizzy is the original dizzy for the gsr motor. It confim working. My obd0 dizzy is working on another integra also. The rewired dizzy is obd2 gsr. I am using the pr3 jdm ecu.

you cannot use an obd2 or obd1 distributor with an obd0 ecu, rewiring doesn't get it to work, swapping internals does.

get your damn grounds on! that will stop spark 100% of the time.

you say there's the only one on the transmission, you need a total of 3.

Start by grounding the valve cover. Then get your ground near your thermostat housing....(ask you neighbor if you can't find it)

If you do not listen or read what people recommend for you to do to start you are effectively asking the same question over and over.

"My new toaster doesn't work, but I haven't checked if it anyone plugged in yet"

if this doesnt work or doesnt change anything, looks like your stuck tracing wires until then.
