ok i have a friend that is giving me his N2 kit, its a 10lb shot "Nos" brand he said buy a intercooler spray thing. My question is, is this worth my time? its a free kit and in the long run cost me 100$ for the intercooler stuff. Whats the effects ect ect

I take it you've never researched NOS before or have any idea what to do with it? My suggestion is stay away from it unless you are going to build your engine up to handle it. Otherwise it will not last you long, period.

You just have to tune your ECU to compensate and make sure you have enough fuel to support the whole system. The intercooler spray kit just supercools the air charge going through your intercooler. No nitrous makes it into the engine.

na it sprays the intercooler no n2 go's into my motor, but ya iam scared shitless of n2.. seen some bad things happen lol.

Ahh, so it's an N-Cooler. Those things really intrigue me. Do you think those are worth it Mike and would you ever use one?

He isn't putting it in his motor, he is putting it on the intercooler to cool the intake air further. No tuning necessary.

Personally, I would say that if you were running on a drag strip and had nos running to the motor already, the extra couple of horsepower would be worth it. But adding a tank, lines, spray bar, etc is adding weight that you would carry around all the time for those brief moments of speed when you actually used it. And its not THAT much horsepower that you gain. You wouldn't be able to feel it on an ass dyno. So, I would vote yes if you visit the strip and actually hook up the nos to the motor, then use the spray bar as a secondary thing. No if you are just using the spray bar.

It looks like he just wants to use the highly flammable nitrous oxide to cool down his intercooler. Sounds like a "hold my beer" moment to me.

The effects of it are that it makes the charge air colder than ambient. But I agree with others who say don't bother.

Nitrous Oxide is not flammable dude, when nitrous is heated (above 570F, I think) it splits into oxygen and nitrogen, making more oxygen available for combustion in the engine. And when it vaporizes, it provides a cooling effect on the intake air, which increases the air's density thus making even more oxygen available for combustion. Too much fast and furious. NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

Right, not on his motor but rather on his intercooler with the oval design umm, piping I guess I could call it that sprays it directly into his intercooler. I have seen those before and always wondered whether they actually did something for you. I'm wondering if the CryoCooler or CO2 cooler would do anything more than help cool down the engine while you were on the strip. That is the only reason I could think of putting it on there. You make a great point as far as adding weight by putting the system on but I still ponder whether the cooling effects would benefit you down the line.

IMO, it's entirely overrated if you have an efficient turbo and intercooler.

i was tuning in nearl 100 degress ambiant, and only 89 degrees at the IAT.

I vote not worth it! If it was really that big of a deal i would look at doing a water to air intercooler. Or if you were already spraying the motor like phyregod said, then sure run the lines. The whole thing sounds like a huge waste of time if you ask me.....

Yes, I would use one if I had it- but there are better ways to gain power for the price. Filling bottles sucks.

ah i see, well on my civic i take the turbo off and have my little system takes me about 45 mins to get the turbo ecu back in and 440cc's, I drive like 40 miles a day and the turbo drains my gas big time. But ya i got a nos kit thats like new for free. maybe ill sell it later on this month if any one is interested. (n2 kit)

Wow. Just wow.

That must be putting down some serious........... Nevermind.

UHH its putting 142 Hp N/a (cause dish pistions) , Turbo 220hp. Nevermind? i know my shit and tune my car to correct running standards. Not just swaping a ecu.....
