i was wondering what would happen if a shave a couple thousands off my LS head... and if it is a good idea how much should i take off??
I have to head at work right now.. ripped down for a valve job and it would be nothing to mill a few off the top
any info is welcome

youd get higher compression.

Cheap HP! it works, but for how long is the question!....

well talk to the machinist about what would be a good number........keep in mind that compression will go up, and its actually making your engine less reliable you really shouldnt get it done unless you have warped head

so i took 20 thousands off and from what i caculated it is going to up the compression half a point wich over all will be a 3% horse power gain ....
wich doesn't realy equal anything maybe 5 to 10 horse

^Hey man, when you're going for all out power every 3% counts!!

what would the point be on skimming the head to raise compression and then double the gaskets. This will just cancell each other out. DUH.

also dont get to close to the valve seats as the heat will distort the seats and cause missfire. Your better or decking it.

IMO.
