Hi guys

Got a few questions, I hope someone can answer:

First one is a bit odd... (don't laugh at me)
* My car was imported from Japan in 2003 (by it's last owner)... The log book just has "1991 Honda civic, 1400cc"

On the car it's got Vtec, SIR, Dohc
Theres a plate that says EG4

What is the full spec of this car?

*I want to replace the seats front and back... what’s the best option?

And what other upgrades/mods do you recommend?

Thanks

Joe

lloks like a stock jdm 1991 civic to me, and someone prolly just put the sticker on the side. im thinking if it was a real dohc car it would be a eg6

the ones that say. dohc. i edited my first post

I showed a mechanic the engine, and he said it was dohc (without seeing the sticker)

confused :(
rolf, its a sohc. meaning single cam motor. its a d15b it will say it right on front of the block. oh and get a new mechanic, he is a complete dumb ass

Some other photos of the engine...

What about the SIR sticker?

I'm don't care if someone added the stickers to make it look better... I'd just like to know the proper spec of the car.

in front looking at the motor down to the left beside the exhaust, there will be a stamp on the block that will read d15b. its just to the left of the exhaust very easy to find

here is where that stamp is just so you will know on your next motor

So it just leaves my other questions now...

what upgrades/mods do you recommend and would typeR front and rear seats fit it?

Type r seats would fit. You could look into a B16 for it, which is the dohc SIR motor that is being advertised on the door. Or a GSR motor for more power. Or, because that motor is pushing roughly 125hp, you could clean it up really nice, put a few small touches on it here and there, and just enjoy the car for what it is. They are fun.

Clean up the rust. Don't let it eat the car.
