Well its says 2009 Civic and there driving an 2009 Civic so I wouldn't say its that old...
 
they probably just redid it for 09 because I swear I saw it with an 08. if you watch all the "making of" videos they had been working on it for months. do you think they don't have any new models produced until january 1st of the year they're intended for.

Well it was made by Honda so I would imagine they had access to the 09 models before January 1st......
 
okay I couldn't find an exact date. best I found was mid to late september. 6-7 months long enough?
 
Well that is a lot more believable than a year. All I was saying that the commercial is not a year old.
 
Ya the GF was watchin all the making of videos the other night. It was pretty cool to see how they did it.
 
They asked us (City Of Lancaster employee's) to be extra's in that commercial since they had to get all the permits through us (obviously) A few people looked at me weird when I said 'If the commercial is for a new model that comes with huge snail and a funny looking 'header' attached to it, then I'm game. If not, i'm not wasting my fucking day off' lol.

Anyway, that road was torn up from it's first location like 4 days after the commercial was finished because we got tons of complaints saying that it was too loud when people would drive on it in the middle of the night. The closest house to that part of the road was 50 yards+ away. I think they complaints were a little over exaggerated but oh well. They built another one in a more remote location though.

This commercial was filmed a long time ago. I'm really surprised at how long it actually took to finally come out.
