I have a 1994 acura integra ls coupe with manual transmission.

I've already tried to research online and cant find and answer.:confused:

My problem is that sometimes i cant get it to go in any gear, and it grinds real bad.

sometimes i need to turn the car off then put it in gear then start it again, other times i start it and it works fine all day.

what could be the problem??
slave cylinder???

any help is apperciated

also

whats the best tranny and clutch for my 94 integra?

its got dc headers, dc cat back exhaust, msd blaster coil ignition, injen short ram intake.

should i just get the oem clutch or go stage 1 or 2???

and what are the advantages over oem?

thanks alot

so the syncros will work perfectly sometimes then other times not work at all???
because like i said sometimes it shifts perfectly then other times i cant get it in first without shutting it off then putting it in gear then starting

i would just get an exedy stage 2. i had one and it drives like oem but it grabs a little better.

if you can afford it get an ITR tranny for the lsd, otherwise a GSR tranny would be good.

think of how a tranny and clutch work. try to conceptualize what the process is and what would make it do that.

if you engage the clutch, but you can't shift, the syncros are broken or out of sync. it's not allowing you to shift.

is there any way to make it last another week or 2 because im gonna buy another tranny in a week or 2, but i need to drive it every day, and if i cant get it in gear sometimes its a pain in the ass.

thats what i was thinking about buying a gsr tranny but someone told me the b16 tranny is better

the only one that is "better" is the ITR because it has an lsd.

it all depends on what you want to do. if you want short gearing for a 1/4 mile, get a b16 tranny. if you want better mpg, get an ls tranny. if you want something in between get a gsr.

the word "better" is a matter of opinion.

i had just seen online if i put gm syncromesh in the tranny it might help??

anyone know anything about that??

and thanks alot for the help guys im pretty new to this all.

please post the link that you read that.

Have you tried Synchromesh yet? I would try that before buying a new tranny. I prefer the Pennzoil variant, the Royal Purple didn't stop the synchro-gring as well....

thats what they said on superhonda.com

Before you get carried away with a new transmission double check your clutch hydraulics. If you can have a friend push on the clutch pedal when its acting up and watch how much or little the slave cylinder is moving the release arm. From what your describing I strongly suspect your clutch master or slave cylinder is starting to bypass internally. have you observed any change in the fluid level? try peeling back the rubber boot on the slave cylinder and check if its wet inside. good luck.

Yes, Fernpatch is right! It sure sounds like a clucth hydraulic problem. You could change the trans and still have the same problem.
