Hello, I am posting for a friend. I have done a lot of research and I can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for.

My buddy has a 93 Del Sol S auto tranny he was planning to swap to a 5 speed. He recently came across a B18B out of a 92 Intrega LS for dirt cheap and is now wanting to swap it into the Sol, Does anybody do that? He does not have the transmission or wire harness for it, but he does have the ECU. The local junk yard is littered with Integra's of the same year so we know we can find a tranny and a harness for it, but Del Sol's are non-existent.

After finding the engine he is now thinking he might just stay with an automatic due to the already complex engine swap, despite my recommending to still swap to 5 speed, does anyone agree with me since he's already doing all of that work? Should he stay with and auto tranny?

I'm a 240 guy and know nothing about Hondas so I was wondering if someone can give me some info on what all is involved and what he might need.

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Mike

I would swap to manual. In my opinion that swap really isn't worth doing if you're not going to swap to manual. The automatic LS transmissions are real turds. He's not going to feel that much of a difference over stock if he keeps the slush-box in it.

As for complexity, not really. It's a pretty straightforward swap. It should bolt right in with the correct mounts. If he does decide to go manual though, then he'll need a manual ECU...

Thanks for the response!

Forgot to mention that the new engine came out of a manual car, the guy didn't want to come off of the tranny, so it is the manual ECU.

You said it's straight foward, so we need to find the tranny, harness and axels? Are there any special mounts or do you use the stock LS mounts?

As far as swaping the Sol from auto to 5 speed, can we find the clutch/shift parts off of any civic/del sol of the similar year?

The Del sol and the 92 Integra are both OBD1 cars. Use the Delsol harness on the LS engine.

Ok then, that makes it a lot eaiser. Thanks for the help.

Does anyone know what car we need to look for to get the shift linkage and clutch stuff for the del sol?
