lowering??

im thinking about slaming my 92 prelude when i get new rims i might go with 16's and some lowerprofile tires and im wondering how many inchs i could drop it with out rubbing

Slamming a car to the ground isn't cool. All you need is an inch and a half, to two and a half inch drop. The whole point of lowering the car is to make it handle better.

Do you even know what suspension components you're going to be using? Don't buy cheap ebay crap, that shit just breaks. What is your budget?

yea i know im not going to put it on the gound im jsut wondering how low it would go if i put 16s on it with out rubbing and being great on handeling and its almost as much as i want to spend but i think im going to use tein usa or an eibach pro-kit

assuming you have the correct tire size on your 16" wheels you should be able to lower it at least 2.5" before rubbing becomes an issue..... that should be enough to start tucking tires a little if thats the road you want to go down...

i recommend some springs that lower your car somewhere between 1.5" and 2.0". more than that and you will sacrifice ride and handling. you will need to spend around $500 to lower your car the correct way. you will want to pick up some springs and a set of shocks, preferably adjustables like KYB AGXs. as far as springs, H&R sports and Neuspeed sports are definitely favorites for ride and handling.

eibach pro kits dont lower your car much.... you will still have a decent fender gap, although the ride and handling will be nice. i have had them before and i liked them except for the fender gap.

but first i have to finish with the project im on now

my wheel came off and i have to replace the hub, i already got a new rim, and i have to get a new nuckle i believe thats what its called lol but that should be done tonight then in 2 weeks when i get paid i think im ging to start lowering

ive had nothing but great experiences with skunk 2 lowering springs and strutts
thye can be hard for under 500 and give a nice stance and very nice ride while increasing handling i put them on my eg coupe and my 94 lude and i was happy with both sets

I recommend Ksports, True Coilover systems. Best bang for the buck compared to TEINS or anyother Coilover kit out there. Complete adjustability on height and dampening control.

In would think about camber kits unless you like going through tires every 15-20K miles and they need to be alligned after....so add around $250-400 more for those installed and wheels alligned.

those coilovers are nice i lowered my lude as far as it needs to rides kinda tough but handles corners and everything great! no lean
