I've got D16Y8 in my 2000 civic hatch that I need to buy an exhaust manifold for. My problem is that there are no "tuning" shops in my city and if it doesn't have 4 wheel drive and not lifted to the sky, they have no idea what I'm talking about. Does anyone know what brand of header will fit my car that has the O2 sensor mounts?

there are 101903947 of headers out there, any 88-00 civic with a d series engine will fit, just make sure it has 2 bung holes. just in case you want to go cat less

All the major brands should have them. Shit, most of the crappy E-Bay brands should have them too. Just order the one you like and you'll be fine...

yup yup brutals right... you will have a hard time finding a header without o2s since we are on the subject im switching out my cat for headers on my crx hf anyway i can pass deq?

I have a set of DC headers awesome, just no O2 sensor hole on mine, Greddy make an awesome set, also I would recomend Megan they also sound very very nice as well.. look around on like andysautosport.com or something... they should have a nice slection for u

I have a Megan header on my Integra, and I'm fairly pleased with it. It was cheap ($150), but fairly study. Definitely has an O2 sensor hole as well...

There are plenty of headers out there that have two O2 sensor threaded holes. DC makes one for sure and its C.A.R.B. exempt (I'm in CA so it matters if you wanna be legal on the street here) I don't know the restrictions (or lack there of) in Canada. Shop around because I see alot of DC headers that are over priced. I've bought 4 since '96b and NEVER paid over $300 but I see them online for around $400 so look around.

I even had an imitation header that I installed on a friends civic (two O2 sensors) and it lasted him around 6 yrs before the welds on the header started to leak a little (and it was $175)

My Engine comes with 2 O2 sensors though.

And do both of the sensors attach into the header? I doubt it. Typically on OBD2 cars you have a before-cat sensor and an after-cat sensor so it can monitor the difference to make sure your cat converter is working...

Yes one before the cat and one after. The one after needs to be replaced as my engine light is on. I checked it with an OBD reader. I don't really care if it's legal or not, there are no laws where I am. How, If i can, can I run this engine with a header with no O2 sensor bungs? I'm going to take some time off in the summer and pull my engine out and re-build it. I'll have my bike insured by then as a mode of transportation. Will an overhaul kit from the dealer (Honda) be too expensive? I don't know enough about these cars to mix and match parts to get some decent HP out of this engine. Are there "performance kits" available? This way I can save up and accumulate parts for my summer overhaul. I'd rather fix my car than make payments on a new one.

You need to do something with that O2 sensor. If you come across a header you want to use that doesn't have one, then you'll need to take it to an exhaust shop and have them weld a bung in. Your other option would be to use a programmable ECU and have it not look for the O2 sensors anymore.

The more cost effective solution for now is to just have the sensors plugged in like they're supposed to be...
