i am swaping a 96 civic stock d16y7 with a d15b7 is it a direct switch or are some of the plugs for the electrical diffrent?

You're going from an OBD2 engine to an OBD1 engine. You need the B7's harness, or a conversion harness...

.....also gonnna have to do something about the crank sensor not found on the D15b7. The ecu is gonna be looking for it. Gonna have to swap out the oil pump for one from a Y7 so you have somewhere to mount the sensor. you need the Y7 pump, lower crank sprocket and the sensor off your Y7. use the civic engine harness, injectors and ecu. Itll work out, weve done it with a D16a6 into a EX.

Are you saying youre replacing a B7 with a Y7 or putting a B7 into a 96 civic? For the Y7 to go in the 92-95 yes use the b7's harness, ecu and distributor. All 88-00 D series sohc engines have the same distributor bolt pattern, except the Z6, it is different. Your first post had me under the assumption that you were replacing a Y7 with a B7 into a 96 civic. Trans will not be a issue at all, and use the engine mounts and brackets that go with the car the engine is going in.
