No not for me. Another of my good friends is getting married. He proposed Friday night to his long time girlfriend and she said yes. The wedding is set for November 18th. (dunno why a winter wedding, but that gives time to prepare, I guess).

I don't know how many of you remember "YeahIdriveaTGL", but thats him. Mark and Kate will be wedded in 7 months. I'm excited for them, for what little I know of her she's a great gal, and he's gonna learn a lot with this experience. lol

I asked her tonight if this will be a dry wedding like Matts, but she said it'll be a cash bar most likely, which I'm happy about. I couldn't stand not drinking at Matts wedding (Laura, Matts wife is a bit of a prude, but she's finally starting to warm up to us all).

At my friend Gregs wedding, I was made an usher. At matts wedding I was actually in the groomsman party, and at this one I will be a groomsman right behind the best man (which is Matt, Marks brother).

bar at wedding = better than a dry wedding, I'd rather pay for beer at the reception over being completely sober.

Part of the reason I had considered NOT going to Matt and Lauras wedding was because she was such a prude that she had her reception at the church the wedding was at, Part 1 one of 2 of why it was a dry wedding.

The last wedding I was a groomsman in they screwed up and tapped the keg early in the day while we where doing pictures and all that jazz. Needless to say, by the time the ceremony got started the groomsman where a little tipsy. It was a damn good time though. Weddings can be a great time.

Ya I'm getting married on June 27 in Ventura CA and we are getting like 4 kegs and a ton of middle of the road wine...I will probably get a really nice bottle of tequila for myself though...

All the way to Ventura when you are on the other side of the country? Is she from out here? Or are you just doing it for the location?

we supplied a keg at our wedding, with a cash bar for hard shots, etc

meh. our wedding was not in any way traditional.. our rehearsal dinner was a pool party with mini taco's and chimi's from a local mexican food restaurant :)

I like being apart of weddings its a lot of fun. My Dad got married last November and I was a groomsman. It was fun because my Dad's boss paid for all the alcohol as his wedding gift.

She is from Ojai. We will be living in Pittsburgh for a year then going elsewhere.

kegs? at a wedding? seriously?

holy crap. its not a frat party.

Okay critic. It's a good way to provide nice cold beer to the populous within getting fucked in the ass by a caterer. A keg of NICE beer can be had for <$100. It will be about 130-150 beers depending on measuring criteria. It's the pop-collared backwards hat limp-dick faggots that make a frat party, not the kegs buddy.

cant go wrong with patron

No, I meant a nice bottle of tequila.

reminder...

Tell your buddy to remind his wife to be that equal rights means equal rights. If men are expected to change diapers, do dishes and clean the house then women are expected to rake leaves, shovel snow and clean up dogshit.

I love my wife but she seems a little short on the definition of equal...

That failing have children as soon as possible and put them to work; work builds character.

:D

B - you are kidding right? That is standard practice for every banquet hall I have ever seen - we went through 4 kegs and had two more in reserve at our wedding and that was pretty average. I am thinking the picture in your head is different than what actually goes on. When I say we had 4 kegs it means that we purchased 4 from the banquet hall and they ran them through the tappers that were in their bar. That way the bartenders don't have to keep track of how many bottles/glasses they sell. It isn't like we have some plastic tubs set up with a keg in it and ice on top and do keg stands all night. How do you think any bar in america gets their beer to the tap? That's right the keg - this way you purchase your set amount and the bartenders can focus on other things like mixed drinks and shots to get the bride's maids out of their dresses. :D

Under - I would love to live where you are. There is no way you can touch a keg at a hall for less than 250.00 where I am from.

I can buy kegs for 65 dollars for a busch light or miller high life. 100 gets you budweiser. And 120 will get you mac and jacks african ale

From a liquer store right? Most banquet halls have their own liquer license which basically prohibits them from letting outside parties bring in their own stuff. They are also taxed more for alcohol than you and me which translates into a higher cost for a keg. Trust me I know what I am talking about with this.

The place our reception was at - 200.00 per half barrel

The place where we got married - 260.00 per half barrel

The place where my Bro is getting married 230.00 per half barrel.

That is pretty standard no matter where you go around here.
