so as we all know muscle car guys have it easy. they can get crate motors, brand new, perfect condition, done and done. now us honda guys dont have it so easy. we spend thousands on engines and tranny's that have been sitting in japan for weeks and we end up spending even more on top to replace all the crap out parts that have gone out on the engines we get overseas. SOOOOOO...

does anyone know what it would really take for a company to get a license to mass produce complete B series heads and such? dart makes b series blocks but who needs a honda block...they last forever. not to mention darts blocks are way too expencive for the average enthusiast. but i think it would be really cool to have a reliable places that we could get new heads and ultimately revive the glorious b series, so it can live on for another 15 years....or until k series become cheap enough to get our hands on

of course any man would be insane to say "hey im gonna take this challange!". the economy is horrible and no one is going to buy them, at least not for another couple years. does anyone think honda would license people to produce straight up B series? i doubt they would because honda only has one thing in mind these days...produce inexpencive 30mpg cars that get you from point a to point b without any flashy looks.

any comments?

Honda has a stockpile of replecement parts. There are literally thousands of new vtec heads out there sitting in some warehouse. You can buy one, you just have to go to the dealership and get raped. Why would honda give their design data to a competetor and get undercut on price?

^exactly...keep buying your used parts, get over it :)

Factory Honda parts do run out though... I want to be able to buy Honda parts for the 84-87 cars without having to call dealers in eastern Europe to check their dusty warehouses for old boxes. :(

the k's will not be the new b's unless companies put out swap kits. like ls/vtec kits, only all out k series swap kits. sure a k20a2 is like what 4500 now? if they go down to 3200 not many are going to peruse them still because of all the parts they have to get to make the swap even work. it wont be a buy, wire, drop game as it has been, and that sucks. overall im pretty scared for the honda scene.

When the K's arent the top dogs anymore, the price is gunna drop. When the demand for K swap "kits" sky rockets since more ppl can afford em aftermarkt companies are gunna start comin out with em.

:werd: The B-series has been out for what 20 years, and the K, like 8? Give it time.
