Hi guys,
I just got a 2000 CG5 ACCROD and trying to do a H22A swap wiz some of my friends.
I know there are numbers of tpye for H22A engine.
190hp,200hp,220hp.
I just got a H22A but im not sure its the 220hp ones or the 190hp ones(the seller is not sure either).
The question is, how can i identify what kind of H22A it is?
Thx a lot!

what color is the valve cover, and is the stock manifold does it look like a header or more like a manifold. a pic would help

the engine is still on its way here... the seller said it's from Japan
valve cover is red. stock manifold looks like a header

I thought there are only two kinds of H22A, Black top 190hp and red top 220hp.
I didn't know there are more than these two.

well so far it sounds like a type s 220hp but we would need pics when you get it, and is it coming with a trans or just the engine only. there also a black top 200hp

99+ had the 200 in the us the 97-98 had 195

There should be an engine code stamped on the front of the block, to the left of the exhaust manifold. Read that to us and we might be able to tell you more about the engine. I'm assuming this is European market stuff?

If all it says on the block is "H22A" then it's definitely a Japanese market engine. Since it has the red valve cover I would guess that it probably is the 220 horsepower version. Let me do a bit of research...

it is the 200hp motor. they do have 200hp black top h22's also. thwere should be an aluminum plate cliped top the sparkplug wires. that plate have a lot more info on it. some will be in japanise and the rest will be in english.
