Hello Guys,
I'm new to this forum. I have an 1988 Honda CRX DX with a D15B2 engine that is bad. I want to swap it out with a 1995 Honda Del Sol D15B7 engine. I got this wreck car from a buddy. Can't complain there. I have the complete engine with tranny, ecu and wiring harness. I want to know if it is a direct bolt on. Do I have to change internal wiring? What else do I need to get it running? Thanks!

What do you mean about the obd1and mpfi? If I take the ecu from the D15B7 and put it in the CRX shouldn't control it. It is already obd1 and mpfi. I am just confused.

the Del Sol transmission with hydraulic actuated clutch is not going to work in the 88 unless you get a conversion kit for it

the engine is not quite a direct bolt-in - it will bolt to your DX transmission but you would need to use your DX flywheel and clutch on the D15B7 - the 88 transmission input shaft splines are different from the 89 and up and won't fit into the clutch that is on the Del Sol - you would also need to swap the driver's side engine mount, that bolts to the end of the block, from the D15B2 onto the D15B7 - you would need to swap the connector for the cooling fan switch from the Del Sol engine harness onto your DX harness - the cooling fan switch on the D15B7 is on the thermostat housing and is on the back of the block on the D15B2

you would need to use your DX engine harness which is DPFI and convert the wiring to MPFI in order to run the MPFI fuel injection on the D15B7 - you cannot use the Del Sol harness in the 88 - you could run the engine as either OBD0 or OBD1 - to run it OBD0, you would need the 88-91 CRX/Civic Si or HF distributor and the 88-91 CRX/Civic Si PM6 ECU - to run it OBD1, you would need to get an OBD0 to OBD1 ECU jumper harness and use the Del Sol ECU and distributor - you would also need a 4-wire O2 sensor

another option would be to swap the DPFI intake manifold from the D15B2 onto the D15B7 and use the distributor and ECU for the D15B2 - you would still use the DX harness but the only change you would need to make to it is for the cooling fan switch

you cant just plug in the ecu. the plugs are different between obd0 and obd1 cars. the motor is already obd1 and mpfi but your car is obd0 and dpfi so you need to change

OBD1 GSR to a OBD1 civic

hey every body

first time on this site ever just had a couple of questions i have a 95 civic ex with a D16Z6 i want to build the b seires DART block but not sure excatly what i would need to run it ive heard two different thing first was from (aarn bonks honda engine swaps) it said that OBD1 engines and ECUs can basicly plug into an OBD1 car with minamal work not sure what minimal work would need to be done. and also heard of www.rywire.com were they have harnesses already made but they say there still would need to be work done. so what would be easier rywire or find a wrecked integera
