Will the AEM for the hatch work fine?

Wondering if anyone ever put one on and the mounting marks for the intake match up with the mounting thread near the shock tower?

there relatively cheap ($100) and I need it to be smog legal...or run stock (which I don't have either)
 
if you want it to be carb legal you need to buy it for a Del sol vtec.. doesnt matter if the bracket mounts up... you can always make a bracket to connect them if thats an issue
 
So del sol? It fits in the bay of my EG okay?

Didn't know because the hood/fenders/etc seem different.
 
just a note, if you wanting it for power just get the sir2 stock air box it will make more power than the short ram
 
I've got the AEM CAI made specifically for the B16 in an EG chassis if you want it. Not sure if it was CARB exempted or not since I had one of the first ones, but it may be by now.

thats what i used w/ a K&N drop in.. did the trick and wasnt all loud like an aftermarket intake
 
So that's JDM.....how is the availability on that OEM intake? More power....? Crazy.
 
so whats the theory of sir intake helping the motor more then a short ram? I think its cool....even if they're the same in hp output....stealthy says it all, eg6sir

I just checked it out and need to call when they're open. Where do they ship out of?

what K and N filter? I see some that are 'specific' but saw others that seemed to fit an variety of applications....effing internet searching
 
Nice....Kragen seems to be the cheap spot so far

other guys online are $40-60 and shipping on the $40 set up was $18
 
i got mine at autozone ... they didnt have it so they ordered it and i picked it up the next day.. basically free shipping.. lol
 
got my box just now.

Looks nice and clean...kinda new looking

but my k&n (92-95 civic) doesn't line up with the dowels (the holes on the filter for mounting)

did you just put it in? it seems to be the same size filter but not certain and I don't want to open it if it isnt the right filter

never mind...I'm an idiot.

Just didn't seem to line up when it was still in the plastic (in case i needed to return it)

Fits just fine

Motor is quieter for sure....insulation will come in handy on those hot days

Not sure if I gained power....not sure if I lost either...it sounds so different but still revs up quick and high!!
