So, at the Slim Jim factory we use this brine for the smoke flavor. Anyways, a bunch spilled on my pants and boots. This crap made my foot turn orange! I have like a huge dark orange/brown spot on my foot and I can't get it out. I've tried soap, soaking it, fast orange, gojo, pumice-cleaners, I even tried Comet. I've got some of it off with Lava pumice soap, but there's still a lot on there that won't come off.

Does anyone know how to get brine out of your skin or do you just leave it alone?

i can just imagine that if it smells like smoky slim jim goodness, you are havin' hell chasing the neighbor dogs away from your foot.

i'm going to suggest lemon/lemon juice - it has natural bleaching, acidic, gets smells out, is used to get garlic off hands - but only use it if your skin is not broken/irritated from the thorough kicking of its ass you've been doing.

:shrug2:

Dude, you've got permanent Slim-Jim foot. Don't worry, I'm sure there are support groups out there...

I'll try vegetable oil and the lemon juice; hopefully it works.

And yes, it still has that smoky Slim Jim smell. This happened Saturday night btw, and it still smells.

omfg i cant stop laughing !!!!!!!!!!! i got three ideas your going to hate. personaly i would love a slim jim foot! leave it, it will come out, try vodka and piss but not at the same time

the better question here is why are you trying to get it out? are you afraid of eating your foot off. I would be. I need a slim jim.

tomato juice? works for skunks...
terpintine/thinner? works for oil-based stuff

Have you tried alcohol base cleaners. That is what I used after i had to cut lots of large leeks to get rid of that color as well as the annoying smell. This work mostly Onions i have gone through. Have you also used those salt rub that you see at those bath stores?
have you tried Vinegar?
Make sure you wear some gloves. Don't want it stick to your hands as well.

As for the high commercial coloring, it is really concentrated.
you prob have to wait till you get rid of that layer of dead skin. lol
alcohol based stuff should work for getting rid of most dyes.

I bet it's like POR15... There's just no way to get it out since it basically dyes your skin. Since lava soap worked that's probably what's going on since the pumice rubs off alot of skin. It'll probably have to wear off as your skin replaces itself.

Are you sure it isn't the dye from your boots and them coming in contact with a liquid? The reason I ask is on a construction site years ago I had to do some work in some standing water for most of the day as I didn't have my rubber covers with me. At the end of the day my feet were orange from the dye in the leather. It took a couple of weeks for the dye to wear out of my feet. I would consult the MSDS sheets if there are any or your safety officer at the company and see if they offer any info.

ty :D

Most of the brine that gets on me comes from processed waste meat. They have to be weighed and thrown away by hand. How they get on my boot is when it drips or when I'm filling the machine with brine(which is manually transported with a bucket).

I'm pretty much going to try everything suggested tonight. I've even included sandpaper to the list, wet sanding of course. :)
