Hey everyone.. hope all your builds and cars are turning out well..
I have made up my mind and have decided to go single cam on boost.

I have a D16Z6 in my 94 civic si coupe and im curious to know roughly how many pounds i can run safely in the STOCK motor.. i was thinking 6-8 cause im not planing to go crazy fast and it will be my daily driver.. maybe just here and there i will punch it when i get it tuned..

Please let me know your suggestions of what you think..
Your help is greatly appreciated.. Thanks

well with that type of question your always gonna get a different answer, my opinion is that a stock d series cant handle 7500 rpm or 200 hp what ever comes first. so just stay below that and you should be fine

psi means zip, 0, nadda.

psi doesn't break stuff, power does.

shoot for 200-225 to the wheels on a solid tune, and you'll be fine.

Glad to have another boosted single cam around. Hope things turn out, if you want check out my album :D

Aim for 250whp, that amount of power in smaller hondas are fun, because single cams produce more torque then DOHC.

Hey, i run a single cam on boost. I make 235 whp at 19psi, its only so high because my compression is 8.1:1 but still, I havent had any problems and i dog the piss out of it. Ive seen stock D series sleeve hold up to 500 some odd Hp without dying. Although i would go more then 350-400 without sleeves or your realllllly pushing it.

I'd find a good condition used GReddy kit...you can always change stuff later and/or add to the kit

its set up for a stock d16z6

Im sure all stock internals maybe, i.e pistons and rods. Pretty sure stock rods will only hold up to about 200whp before something goes wrong. BUT if hes gonna boost it, he really should think about pistons and rods. Wise wise investment, cuz then all you'll need to worry about it the sleeves.

the rods are the weak point on the d series

Yeah, i can agree with that. The sleeves on the other hand actually hold a decent amount of power if they are healthy.

My opinion... Buy eagle rods and pistons (optional but recommended)

D series isnt fail. You're fail. :backhand: :p

this has NOTHING to do with turbo D's...

it has to do with all the bullshit 'information' people keep totting as fact.

OP, ignore 99% of the info in this thread, as it's opinion, not fact.

:werd: :withstupid:

we cant tell you shit until you tell us what turbo you'll be using.. a big turbo will make different power at 6-8 psi than a small turbo
