On mothers day I went to clean out one of my ears, I do it bi weekly to monthly to keep them clear.... Well it decided to compact instead. Ever since then when I talk I can hear my voice loud as hell, but I have problems hearing things.

I've tried hydrogen peroxide and some wax removal shit I got last year (which worked awesome last year...) yet I'm still having huge problems in hearing. I'm close to blowing the POS speakers in the VAN because I have to turn it up so loud to hear it over road noise.

Is there any other over the counter stuff I can try without setting an appointment to have them drained?
 
get a decent size syrenge (sp.) fill it with water and quickly force the water into your ear, it wil loosen what is packed in way deep and help it clear out, do it 5 times and switch ears for up to 30 times per ear
 
Would something like a water pick work for that? I did read blasting water in there would do the trick, but too hard and you can damage the ear drum, thus resulting in hearing loss which kind of defeats the purpose.
 
doesnt lukewarm water loosen up wax? i would try a syringe of lukewarm followed up by a cotton swab.

The doctor used a water pic on me last time this happened. Felt amazing when they were finally done.
 
I wouldnt do the water pic thing myself, I would try the warm water and all that first. If that doesnt work hit up the doc. No sense in screwin around trying to be Mr. PhD and blow your ear drum out, you cant really sue yourself for damages.

We're switching insurance agencies right now, I have no coverage and my HSA hasn't been fully set up yet. If I could just pay my 20 dollar deductible I'd be fine but a 100+ bill just won't work right now.
 
My dad is in the same boat as you.

I'd suggest going to the doctor, like drake posted above. You don't want to blow your own ear drum trying to clean it out. Wait it out if you have to man. Me. My senses are worth everything to me.
 
yeah, i appreciate the suggestions. I might get a syringe and try the luke warm water idea. Its the only thing I haven't done, aside from standing in the shower letting the water directly hit my ear. lol
 
I thought a water pik might be a bad idea. but that ear wax removal shit they stated carbamide peroxide, I have a bottle of that shit and it really hasn't helped by itself.
 
Awps you need an 89 CRX. That way you'll have a car from the past 3 decades.
 
what exactly do you mean clean out your ears? if you mean using a q-tip... wow.. i'm either way overusing them or you need to use them more :) i stick one of those things in there every day after the shower :)
