it says that the whole for the clutch cable is already drilled and its juest covered up with a rubber gromet but i dont see that on mine

It was on my 91, but the 88 might not. The 88s have a lot of differences compared to the 89-91s.

when you do the swap do you just have to hook up the two bolts at the end and then just let it sit in the auto square slot will that be sufficent to be able to shift without issue

I think you are talking about the shift linkage? Yeah, you remove the bracket on the bottom where the AT cable came through so you have clearance for the shift linkage, though I'm sure you found that out already. You will at the very least need to drill two holes behind that opening so you can bolt the linkage up with the bushing and little bracket. The place you need to drill should be easily visible, It was on mine. You'll see two holes that aren't drilled out. Just drill them out right in the center of them.

You'll find the problem doing it this way will allow air into your cabin. You really should cut the little circle bracket out of an MT and tack it on. That way the little boot that goes on the shifter will fit and no air comes in. My auto/manual swap was done on a pretty much dedicated track car so I didn't care so much about that.

ok ya i gutted the car and its just gonna be a daily driver, i have another nice car so as long as i bolt the rubber thing up with the bracket it will shift fine without the linkage moving around becuase it looks like on the manual one that hole holds the linkage in place from tilting side to side

do i have to use a shifter pin or can i use a bolt that its the exact size of the hole on the tranny

yes use the wrist (bitch) pin. it's tight as fawk in there for a reason. if you use a nut and bolt you will have major shifter slop.

I've done one too.

Use the "bitch" pin. The hole for the clutch cable should be on the right of the master cylinder kinda behind the strut tower.
