ok, im waiting on parts for my b16 swap into my 89 civic hb and im looking to get 12sec in 1/4, is this a realistic number? what would have to be done to achive this? so far it wil have sir cams, cold air, full exhaust, aluminum pullys, stage 1 clutch (cant remember the company),bigger injectors(cant remember the size)and the tranny has lsd.. and i need all the seats/inside intact for dd use, ive read up on turbos i think i will definatly need boost to achieve 12's, but what will i have to do for boost? pistons/sleeves? btw it has like 40k miles(jdm)

No.

Bigger injectors are fail without real power. Sir cams aren't going to do much for you. You're going to be running rich and thus losing power. LSD will help though. With all of that, I'd guess high 14s.

and i need all the seats/inside intact for dd use

Do you want a drag car or do you want a daily driver? Make a decision.

Ive read up on turbos i think i will definatly need boost to achieve 12's, but what will i have to do for boost? pistons/sleeves? btw it has like 40k miles(jdm)

Now you're sniffing around in the right area. Read up on it until your eyeballs bleed.

ok thanks, what can i do to make these injectors work there the only ones i have so its either i buy new stockers or upgrade something else to allow me to use them

Do you have any form of tuning device? Hondata or something? If so, you can try to tune the car to run on your current injectors, assuming they aren't totally nuts. If not, hit a junk yard and snag some stock injectors.. Shouldn't cost much. Toss those in there and save the bigger injectors for when you make some power.

alright, i dont have anything to tune with, i do have the stock d16 injectors will they work? is there any way i can tell what size these aftermarket injectors are? thanks for the help

They're not any bigger than the B16 injectors.

Easy way to 12 seconds- get to about 160whp (intake, header, exhaust, cams if you have them), then gut the car until it's down to 1600 pounds or less.

That and good driving will get you into the 12s. :D

Wow, you kinda screwed yourself honestly. You should have researched this BEFORE ordering parts. If you want to go turbo, then you'll probably want different cams, and you WON'T need the intake and header...

this is a common problem on this forum. people buy shit without knowing what they are going to do. why buy something THEN ask for advice?

either they buy it before they know what to get or they haven't bought it and are about to waste money.

the exhaust was on the car when i baught it and all the mods were done to the motor when baught, so i didnt buy anything

Ah, okay. Well that makes more sense. If the motor is healthy, then you don't necessarily need to get it sleeved. It kind of depends on how much power you're looking to make here...

yeah it should be healthy i havnt done a comp check yet but its from jdm, and im told it has around 40k on it, its also verrry clean inside no carbon or buildup of any kind, id like to have 225 hp, im assuming thats a reasonable number and should give me decent drag times with all the gust still intact, i want the inside to look decent also

buddy of mone runs 12.9s on a stock SIR B16 with quaife LSD and M&H 24in slicks, it is possible to get 12s now low 12s, not a chance. runs hondata and a 50 trim turbo,at 5230ft elevation.
edit: dyno'd 253hp I believe +-5

id like to turbo it but dont have the funds atm, after it get it in and running ill start buying turbo pieces, either way it should surprise me compaired to my last car, 88 crx dx with d16 swap intake and exhaust i thaught it was fun till i wrecked it

It is certainly within the realm of possiblity to pull 225hp from an N/A b16. But its bloody expensive.

I agree...very expensive....that's why I said 'not too possible' lol

For the money....you could spend a portion of that and have a turbo.

Most all motor 12 second b16 sound like a bunch of bees buzzing out of the exhaust after smoking 4lbs of crack (stereotyping the Honda sound)

IMO They need to be set up for the strip and seem a little silly on the street

And turbo just sounds so dang sweet (while quieting the exhaust a bit)

If money is a factor...lower standards to mid-13's all motor and you'll still smoke most cars on the road
