awesome post...better motor mount may solve that shudder, it did on my 98 ek. i have a shit load of upgrades on it but basic are basics... my engine used to move like it was on hammock insted of motor mounts lol... any way Avid motor mounts did it for me. then again it could be your chink clutch is slipping up

Thanks for your input! I was thinking of replacing the clutch, motor mounts and then adding a torque dampner. Just have to purchase the parts on budget and then take a long weekend trip to my brother's place in Ohio to put it all in. I am concerned about the motor mounts being too "hard" as I drive this thing 120 miles a day for work. Any advice on that?

Stick to new OEM bushing mounts if you're worried about vibration. When I did my swap, I replaced them with the stiffer bushings. You'll definately 'feel' the motor a LOT more than stock. I've gotten used to it now, so it really depends on what you're after. If you want your car to have that OEM feel, then stick with some new stock ones. But I certainly don't regret getting the stiffer ones.

Thanks for the response! I currently have the original D16Y7 mounts and thought I might go with the 99/00 Civic Si OEM mounts as replacements. I know the aftermarket mounts, Avid/Hasport, have different levels of stiffness. Are your aftermarket mounts the stiffer version or the softer street version? Sorting it all out.

20,000 miles and going strong!

I've hit 20,000 miles on the swap. Engine is running great, tranny shifting great suspension working great. Not real happy with the clutch and will probably change it out in the spring.

20k miles already? wow you drive a lot. What clutch do you have?

The XTD stage II (chinese made) I drive a 120 mile a day commute.

Sounds like you get what you pay for:( I'd go for the exedy stock replacement clutch. I've ran mine for 30k miles, 10k of them boosted. The thing has amazed me because it continues to hold up perfectly.

I was figuring on an OEM Honda setup, exedy or clutchmaster.....nothing made in China though. What model Exedy clutch are you using? I'm also going to sound-proof the car as it is extremely loud at highway speeds.....especially with the magna flow exhaust. Looking at taking care of it all in the spring. All in all the swap has been great and has never left me stranded. The suspension changes have left me stranded once due to Chinese ball joints......those are now all TRW parts made in Japan and Spain.

I have the exedy stock replacement clutch. Exedy makes it, but it is also sold under the name daikin. The exedy stage 1 clutch is also a good choice. It holds more torque than stock, and retains stock feel. Either way you go, they are overbuilt and work well.

40K and running strong!

Checking in as it's been a while.

The go-cart is going good. Plenty of power and tows my little Thule trailer without a hitch(no pun intended). 40K miles on the swap and all is well.

I found the source of my vibration problem I noted earlier....the right axle was bad. I'm just glad it failed as I was pulling out of my driveway. I installed a new axle and everything is smooth as silk now. The clutch seems to be good for now.

I'm looking at purchasing a teardrop camping trailer(with electric brakes) soon and I'm confident the civic will tow it with no issues.

Thanks for the update! It's always great to see swapped civics being just as reliable as a factory built car.

The wiring harness plugs are exactly the same be it a jdm or us b18b or a d series motor. The dx harness will plug right into the jdm engine. (You can't use the JDM harness b/c its for a rhd car). You may have to run a wire for the knock sensor, I can't remember if obd2 d series have them. Other than that its a plug and play job
Not true at all. The DX AIT sensor plug is different and you need to extend the o2 wires on the LX, HX and DX. You will see what need to change when you start to look at everything. I am doing this same setup in my 98 HX. I have a bit more to deal with wiring wise due to my VtecE motor. The DX or LX is the easiest car to put a B18B1 into due to the harness.

ok....the 94/95 Del Sol VTEC A/C compressor bracket PN is 38930-P54-000 which I found in another thread after searching. I also found the 97-01 CRV A/C bracket PN 38930-P7J-000. Has anyone used the CRV A/C bracket in a B18b swap to EK before? The CRV A/C bracket is almost half the cost of the Del Sol VTEC A/C bracket. I just want to get confirmation that the P7J bracket has been used by someone and that it works with the D16 A/C compressor bolt to a B18b. I need to get an A/C bracket ordered quickly so please respond if you have any info on the P7J being used in an EK B18b swap. Thanks!
The 99-00 si and del sol vtec ac mount bracket is the same. You can use the Si one to mount your D16 ac to. I have already checked on this with Honda, part numbers are the same.

Update: I just finished the B18b1 swap and I have a few snags. The D16Y7 throttle cable is too short. I researched and was advised that the LS throttle cable would work. It doesn't...too long. Anyone know which throttle cable I need to use?

For the throttle cable in case you are still having issues or if someone else needs to know. On the 96-00 use the D16 cable and the D16 cable bracket fron the intake mani. Use only 1 bolt and bolt it on as close to the throttle, again use only one bolt and hole. It works saw it done on a 98 DX with B18B1. I was wondering about this to. I think a Si cable works to and uses the B18b cable bracket.

yea thats what im doing to mine . jus using the y7 TC bracket with one hole only and using my stock TC ..

but my swap was pretty much simple beside the iacv 2 wire switch over and the CS 3 wire(y7) plug that i had to switch to 2 wire .. not quite done yet as i still have to wire some more stuff up on my swap ..

I used the fuel line from an integra LS....believe it was a 97(same as my B18b1 and my Civic hatch). Got it from a salvage yard. When you say stock one, you are referring to your Civic fuel line?

not sure if the b and d series fuel feed line are the same .. as my stock civic fuel feed line didnt fit the b series fuel rail i have .. yea when i say stock i mean my civic fuel line .. so i guess my options are the B series fuel feed line only huh .. 94+ integra ..
