hi im having a hard time finding an answer. i have a 1991 crx si ,i bought a 1996 integra ls obd2 engine head and block only and i have an obd0 set up for it because i blew my old one and never got it ref ed. so the question is will the ref pass me so i will be street legol?

alot... look up the new laws on engine swaps in cali.. also there is a thread somewhere on here with some good info on it.

i was wondering about how this new shit was... for example, what if i have an integra ls and i wanna put a gsr or a type R motor in it?

that is if i lived in california...

I'm pretty sure that you CAN do that, since those engines came stock in that chassis...

I 'think' you can still put that motor in your car in CA if and only if its a USDM motor. JDM motors have different markings on the block (like a B16A is JDM where B16A2 is USDM)

i just need to make it obd1 and go to the referre and tell him that its a 95

They just take your word for it? You don't have to show current registration? You might want to check your resources and find out for sure...

I know when I went a month and a half ago, they wanted to see my current registration and the paperwork from the DMV--Both of which have the year of the car on there. Not to mention when they run the vin they are going to see all the information on the screen anyway...

Says who? If you know somebody working at the ref station and they told you that they would pass you, then fine, but I wouldn't just count on it if you don't know for sure...

as long as it aint a jdm motor, and its obd 1, and it passes smog, then and only THEN it will be bar'd..lol..

Convert to OBD2....its possible. And I think the ref would know how to tell if your car is OBD2 or not.....so you should be careful or hope for a dough head ref

You could end up with your car being red flagged (it would def happen in CA)
