yep....mmhhm.......yep...
OK, so here is the latest mods to the prelude. mahle h22 87.25mm pistons(low compression forged pistons that you dont have to resleeve the block) eagle h-beam rods. arp bolts. cometic headgasket. had the block and head machined. and a few other mods. going to be completely rebuilt motor going for 400 or 450hp. now has anyone used these pistons before? i have researched them and they seem to be a pretty gooed option for forged pistons with out resleeving my block. h22's have the fmic cylinders and thats the only choice besides resleeving my block. i have read of people using this set up for dd and pushing 700hp. but i hear about 150 per cylinder is the most you can safely run without resleeving. as long as everyhting is built and tuned correctly. Anyone have any feed back on this set up? ALSO INSTALLING 880CC injectors.

Wow, i would bump but i guess no one has used these before...

Well i have put 1250 miles on my prelude since the rebuild. Pistons seen to be doing great!!! Going to get it dyno tuned on sat. Will let everyone know what the ol' dyno has to say.

yes its boosted. my goal is 450hp. but i might have to ditch the log styl mani. and go with a ram horn mani. going to get it dyno tuned this sat. they put a base map on it while i broke in my engine. put 1200 miles on it during a trip from dallas to mississippi this past weekend. we shall see what the dyno says and will uopdate. the whole reason for this thread was to get some feedback on the mahle h22 forged pistons. they have a coating on them so it is not nessisary to sleeve the block. they are 9:0 comp. -7cc dish. i have read alot of good things about them but never had first hand experiance with them. so far so good.

Uh, I do not see how a coating on the pistons would eliminate the necessity of sleeving the block. Those are two completely different areas, and I would urge you to aim for a little more conservative number on stock sleeves. Who is going to be tuning and with what program?

ok first off it has alot to do with sleeving my block. the h and some f series blocks have fmic cylnder walls. wich are carbon and aluminum mix. now forged pistons are aluminum. so alum on alum is no good. before the only way to run forged pistons in an h22 block was to sleev with steel sleeves. mahle made these pistons for the porche and some bmw's that have the same kind of cylinder walls. and as of my hp goal. there are people who have 750whp. on a none sleeved block and they held up. i think it was 500+whp as dd's. so i have built my bottom end to handle this hp. 450 as long as it is tuned well will be just fine. as for your question i have hondata s100\turbo option. and redline proformance in arlington tx will be tuning it. they also built my engine. a jdm h22 accord sir engine. trust me it will handle 450whp with no problems. i will post my dyno sheet this weekend.

Learn something new every day. Researching those sleeves right now, that is something I had not thought about.

Good luck

thanks; i am very excided!!!! i bet i wont be able to sleep at all on friday night. going to dyno at 10am. lol....... yeah if you want to learn about those pistons just look up mahle h22 pistons.

Yeah I did some reading on them earlier today, seems like an awesome choice.

I know this is a pretty old post but wondering how thos Pistons held up for you I have a job h22a and planning on getting some of these Pistons 10:1 with light boost I'm using hondata s300

Just curious if those who used them are still running strong
