So my year just keeps getting worse.

For the ones who dont know my history...i was engaged and my fiance and I bought a condo together and took out a home equity loan..both of our names on are on paperwork....I live in the condo paying the 1st mortgage myself...we have a joint account to equally pay the second mortgage....

yesterday she calls me and tells me she that she thinks her and her new boyfriend are going to get married so she is filing for bankruptcy(she was laid off 3 months ago) so she can get her name of the condo and 2nd mortgage...

I havent talked to an attorney yet but from what i know this is going to force me to file for bankruptcy as well because i am out of work and i cannot afford them to come after me for our shared debt. This is rediculous.....

To sum up my year....

I lost my job(i've sent out so many apps its not funny)
I lost my Girl
And now i have to file for bakruptcy and loose my condo which renders me homeless....

I am assuming prostate or colon cancer is next....

rent the fucker out and live with some family. get a shitty job just to pay the bills. work under the table and collect unemployment.

at least you aren't pregnant.

i cant rent it out...it have a CHFA loan and its against the terms of the loan....and besides in order for me to break even between the mortgage and the condo fees i would have to charge 1206 dollars a month for a 876sqft 2 bedroom 1 bath condo.....

I can't even get a shitty job....i applied to lowes, home po, customer service centers, anything that would pay slightly more then unemployment....

from what i understand if you keep paying on the debt you will not lose it
ie: keep paying the house note and you get to keep it
banks are more willing now than ever to work with people in trouble
step 1 - call your bank

but what's step 2?

hahaha, great southpark episode.

on a more serious notes- i'm sorry to hear about your struggles man. just think about the positives in life and try not to get too down, it'll all work itself out in the end.

It could be that the condo has depreciated in value since it was purchased . . . . idk if its worth him keeping.

Take that piece of equipment in your avatar and end her time on earth. Then when you get sentenced and put in jail you won't have to worry about a job. You'll just live off B's taxes, no more problems.

You could always put the condo up for sale, take any bids for the pay off and neglect to give her her share of it.

so she walks out completelty and now she calls and is engaged? wow. dude.

dont let her shit ruin you. My buddy did the same thing after his eife left him and stopped making payments. He now cant get a job and has shitty credit.

definitly talk to your bank. the more the heads up you give them them ore they can do for you. dont wait until the last minute.

good luck

Man, rough as shit year to be certain. Keep your head up.

Just got to ride it out the best you can.. Lower your standards in the job department, there is something out there. Hit up the pizza shops, they are always hiring delivery drivers and the money is the best you can get out of the fast food biz. I did that myself last year to fill a gap in employment. If you work eleventy billion hours, the tips alone will make your mortgage. Its a pride swallowing thing, but once you get over that, you'll be making your own coin again, and the hours (usually afternoon to late night) will allow you to stay on the job hunt for something better.

+1 on the pizza thing. I made pretty decent money doing it, and I only did it for 4 hours a night, 4 days a week. Still brought home about 4-500 a week.

this is a great idea.
you will have some kind of income, also, as sad as it is, this is a great job to meet people at.
i met some of my best friends working at pizza places.
one of my managers from 4 years ago is one i still talk to regularly, would hang out but she moved 500+ miles.

i would consider taking some classes. you should be able to get some free classes with some financial aid. also, do some community service. when it comes time to interview, they are going to ask what you have been doing. nothing sounds better than sharpening your skills and serving the community. also, it's a good way to network and meet people.

I feel really bad for the poor bastard that is rushing into things with your ex, trust me it WILL fail. he will have it 10 times worse then you since he will have to deal with being divorced.

You may not think it but your girl leaving you was one of the best things that could have happened to you.

As for work, did you try any local restaurants? There's no reason you can't make 18-28 bucks waiting tables.

You may not like the idea but F it, it's work.

Man.... I thought my life was in shambles.

At that, you have to put yourself out there. Go meet people. My biggest asset for me right now is my un-paid internship and you can't believe how many business people work with community non-profits on the regular.

craigslist has a shitload of jobs. go try some construction or manual labor if you have to.
the problem is that 8-10 bucks an hour is LESS than unemplyment. it's not even worth it to work.

exactly....im tying to find work that pay more then i would make on unemployment

need someone like 14-15 dollars an hour....

I don't really have that "shitty job" experience other then Auto Detailing...never worked in a restaurant....

I did get a call yesterday from a recruiter with an open position for a worker;s comp adjuster in Meriden, which is 10 minutes from my house ..they are submitting my resume to see if they can get me an interview....pays $60k-$65k a year....i'm really crossing my fingers on this
