So my DD decided to take a shit on me this week. I drove it all last weekend traveling and it ran perfect. On tues I went to fire it up for work and it just crank and cranked with no firing. I checked and it's getting fuel into the engine, there isn't any spark at any cylinder. The car has a coil on plug ignition, and there's no way that all of the coil packs could go bad at once. I'm not getting any CEL's either and there are no blown fuses.

I tried getting some help from Maxima.org and couldn't find anything in a search. They make you get 15 posts in some bs beginners forum before you can actually post. Any ideas on this?

Try posting it on my350z.com is it a V6 or I4?

anywho, check all your fuses, that's where I'd start.

It's a vq30 v6. I did check all the fuses. Might as well double check

check out my350z.com or a 300zx forum, do a search on your issue to see if other cars had that problem and what the cause/fix was.

I don't need to jump it. The battery is fine. The car cranks and the cylinders are getting fuel. Just no spark.

I think he's not asking if you tried to jump start it to get it running but rather have you tried jumping it before this was an issue. Maybe that was the cause but I'd think you would know that if that was the case.

Check the wiring and make sure your getting 12V to the module (under the coil packs) when the ignition key is turned on. If you have 12V then ohmmeter the coils. The primary side is like .5-1.5 ohms and the secondaries are in the 7500 ohm neighborhood. If all this checks out OK the module would be the culprit.

From a random google search, not for Nissan but random cars.

Thanks for the help guys. After screwing with it more and letting it crank for awhile, I finally got a CEL to show up for the cam position sensor. I ordered the part at autozone ($60), and it will be in tomorrow afternoon.
