even for like a sensor if the light is on does it rob ur HP ..someone has told me so just checking?? if anyone can help

Depends why the CEL is on. It can be on for a TON of different reasons, and they can each effect a different aspect of how the car runs.

Your best bet is to fix whatever the CEL says is not working properly. Then you won't have to worry about whether you will/won't be running right.

Most of the time a CEL will cause the ECU to go into "limp mode". It'll run rich and yes, it will rob hp and kill your gas mileage.. Best to fix it right away.

wowwwwwww thats explains sooo much.. cuz i bought this car like 2 months ago and the CEL was on when i bought it and the guy i bought it from told me it was just because of a sensor or something cuz he did a b18c swap on it and thers no A/C so maybe i thought that was why it was on but i did start to notice how i thought it was runin rich and it bogs down alot in first and i have noticed gas mileage not as good.. but how do i find out wat the CEL is on for?

Pull up the carpet in the passenger foot area, the ECU is behind there. There is a red LED in the little window in the center of the ECU cover. Start the car and count the number of flashes. There may be more than one code, so it could flash 2 times, then flash 15 times, repeat forever.. Count the flashes in each set and post up the numbers.

My bad man, I have CRX on the brain.

Its under the Passenger kick panel, to the right and below the glove box.. Plastic guard thingamagigger.

But it doesn't have the handy dandy LED like the CRX does. Ok. Lets start churning out some helpful information, shall we?

1. Activate the Acura Integra Check Engine Light Diagnostic:
Go to passenger kick panel of your Acura Integra and look for a green cover right above the kick panel. Inside the green cover you’ll find a blue connector that has two wires attached to it. With the ignition off, use a small wire or paper clip to jump or connect the two wires in the blue connector. After securing the connection, turn your key to the ignition position (two clicks) until the dash lights come on but do not start your Acura Integra.
2. Read the Check Engine Code off the Acura Integra Check Engine Light:
To read the check engine code, pay close attention to how your check engine light is flashing. It will flash a series of long flashes and short flashes. The check engine trouble code is a 2-digit code. The long flashes represent the first digit and the short flashes represent the second digit. If your Acura Integra check engine light flashes 2 long flashes and 3 short flashes, then the check engine trouble code is: 23
If your Acura Integra has one check engine trouble code, the check engine light will flash long flashes, short flashes, pause and repeat the code.
LONG - LONG - SHORT - SHORT - SHORT - PAUSE - REPEAT
(Here the check engine trouble code is 23.)
If your Acura Integra has more than one check engine light trouble code, the first engine code will flash, then the second engine code will flash and repeat.
LONG - SHORT - SHORT - PAUSE - LONG - LONG - PAUSE - REPEAT
(Here the check engine trouble codes is 12 and 20.)
3. Look up your code on the list of Acura Integra check engine light codes below:
1 O2A - Oxygen Sensor #1
2 O2B - Oxygen Sensor #2
3 MAP - Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor
4 CKP - Crank Position Sensor
5 MAP - Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor

Did you read up on how to interpret the codes? If it's just one long flash, then I'd say it's probably code # 10, the IAT sensor. Either that, or it's your primary O2 sensor...
