i have the voyager and i mainly text with it and its great for that but im getting tired of flipping it open all the time to do that. so i was thinking of swapping to the blackberry storm, just wondering if anyone has this phone and is it good to text with and do you have to buy a data plan every month for it just for normal use.

well its perty much a never mind now lol. i talked to verizon and you got to buy a data plan every month to have a bb with them so eff that.

Yes, you are required to buy a $30 data plan when buying blackberry phones. Something with the way they are designed that they are always constantly connected to internet so a internet plan is required. As far as the phone itself, the guy I talked to at verizon said that the BB Storm is their most returned phone, and the one that gives them the most problems. The touch screen malfunctions a lot and buttons are hard to press, being very difficult to text with.

I told the rep that I wanted to get a touchscreen, and he recommended the LG Dare. Pretty much the BB Storm but the LG version. I played around with it and its a very solid phone. Had it for about 4 months now and no problems whatsoever. He said it is currently their best-selling phone and the least returned.

Oh, and I'm assuming you have Verizon.

I also have the lg dare. Its a great phone. I had a bb storm and i hated it. Its not very user freindly at all.

storm sucks, HTC phones are buggy and crap.

the dare looks good... or a blackberry bold.

I liked the voyager myself, until I saw that it was one of those flip-open, full keyboard type phones. I hate that type of model, just completely ugly not attractive to me at all.

Why'd you end up keeping it?

my buddy had the storm and it was very glitchy he took it back several times and they ended up giving him a versa and he loves it my buddy changes phones like underwear and has had the env1 and 2 the dare, voyager and those just in resent months the versa has a full touch screen and a full detachable qwerty keyboard similar to the voyager

well i like the voyager but the flip open book style got old to me real fast, and i like a cell with a full text pad, a big full text pad that is. and the only other phone i know that has that is the storm, the dare is to small for me. but i kept it because im not wanting to pay the 30 extra dollars a month to have a storm.

My sister had the BB Storm, but switched services and now has a iPhone. The Dare looks solid, but I just wish it had the apps feature like iPhone.

I have a bb storm and havent had any problems so far. I guess I am lucky. It takes sometime to get used to it.

The black berry storm seems to have 90% of its issue from the crappy .75 OS it ships with and user error. One of the biggest complaints I see is that its not an iphone....

With .75 you can tweak a lot of settings so it works very well but still a bit slow. The main reason the phone is at times VERY slow is because everyone leaves every app open, take any random storm phone and hold down the back berry button and it will show you every open app. Most people have like 10 different things running in the background at all times, from games, camera, pictures.....

Black Berry storm bought to be used as a phone by basic users = instant return. What makes it worse is the people at Verizon dont seem to know shit about the phone either so anyone who bitches cant get help.

Black berry storm for someone who wants to use it not as a phone but as a SMART phone and is willing to tweak it to their hearts content, the storm Frigging rocks.

I wouldnt give my storm up for any other phone on the market. the only thing I really dislike about the storm is no wifi, (same for the new iphones) you're stuck using the 3G network.
So far everyone who has handled my phone has commented on how its nothing like they thought the storm would be like based on all the people bitching about it.

HTC touch

X2. Ive had mine for a little over a year and other than it crashing due to having it on while flying in the cockpit of some of the planes at work (my fault) its been awesome. If you go to pocketpcfreeware.mobi there are a bunch of nice apps to make it even better (Youtubeplayer, Skyfire.) Since its touchscreen it has several options for a keyboard. It's pretty good for texting and browsing the net.

I hate the HTC Touch Pro(is that different from the regular Touch?) My cousin has it along with Sprint service IIRC; I've used it when we went to go meet some family members out of town, because he has internet...but the screen always flips different directions on me, touchscreen/navigation sucks, using the keyboard at night sucks, and it crashes a lot. I've never spent as much time with the iPhone or Voyager but to me they seem to work better than the HTC.

yea the pro and diamond are newer "variations" though I think they're nothing alike. its a completely new system supposed to be easier to use or at least have everything one touch away but I think they're crap. They don't sell the og Touch new anymore I unless its through a different provider.
