I have a 1990 integra ls with the head gasket blown, what do you guys think i should do, swap the engine for a gsr or a b16, OR rebuild my LS with crower cams & gears and new pistons and rods
please guys i need your input, dont want to waste my time puttin in a gsr to still run 14s on the 1/4 mile

it's personal preference.

If you can afford it. www.hmotorsonline.com

if you have time to shop around, I would try to get one from craigslist or a local parts forum.

yeah i wanted to do hmo but idk paying 1800+300 shipping+700 to drop with with new mounts, hoses and radiator is going to add up ill try looking around though

why would you need mounts? it's a straight swap. plus, if the tranny is fine, just get a long block. you already have everything you need.

I heard b16 long block with an ls tranny would be way too long between shifts

The B16/LS tranny isn't horrid, but it would be nicer to have a nice hydro b16 tranny in there.

yes it is, I have that set up right now.

top of 1st at 43mph 2nd at 70mph 3rd at 105 and i have never toped out 4th.

but I get 34mpg with short ram, skunk2 intake manifold, 310 injectors, header, and 2.5" straight pipe.

I would say a b16 tranny with LS 5th gear would be dead sexy.

try building a high compression LS or LS V-tec.

Ebay has some PCT replecas by nippon racing pistons for $160 shipped. They arent made for big power but they will make great power and hold up to abuse.

they will put you in 11.6:1 compression if i remember correct and they fit on stock LS rods with no problem.

with a good tune that will get you to 14s with other bolt ons and cams.

help

i have a 94 integra i put a b20b in it, but its redlining at 3500rpms what could it be but sometimes it will work right and redline at 6500 or more cant rember help me please:(

^ Ive heard of ppl doin that but with GSR 3rd and 4th. They say it has awesome versitility.

My J1 is hella short, first gear is uselessly short and 5th is too short for the highway speeds.

Im rockin a B16 with an LS tranny and honestly I dont think its all that bad. :dunno:

1st and 2nd arn't bad in those. Above that it seems like you have to really wind it out. Come to Columbus and drive my gsr trans equipped car or my type r equipped car, might change your mind. The type r with the short gearing and lsd is the most fun to drive, but it sucks on the highway. I'd say the gsr is the best for DD.
