Ok check it before you hound dogs rip me apart I have read many fourms that say to keep it stock. IF I COULD I WOULD, but due to the limited amount of 1st gens in the pick a part and special order this special order that i dont have the time nor patience.

With that said. I have a 79 5 speed. Due to excessive oil consumption (sliped main berring) and 2 ruined heads on cylinder 3 I have decided to remove the CVCC that is in it and put a D15b7 from a 95 civic OBD 1. My question to you guys is has anyone swaped a D series into a 79. Im not inturested in B series only D series.

Welding's not the problem. Whoever worked on the car b4 i got it decided they would make the air conditioner switch the coolant switch as well. so I always have to have the air going to cool the engine down.

If anyone knows the electrical on the car would help a ton and what harness i would need to make this work. I have a P72 ECU

Good luck with that, I hope you know how to weld.

well if the car was carbed then just use the wiring harness for the motor you pic.

no,but that is a great concept cant wait till you get done and show some pics as the motor goes ive done alot of d series motor swaps and use the d15b7 harness and wire driverside into dash shouldnt have aproblem with axles becuz the axles should work in your 79 civic, idid a 81 civic with a d16y8 vtec and there basically the same procedure so good luck

Truthfully, if you can't fix that problem yourself you'll never get a D series running in it. Its doable, but you really need to have a good amount of knowlege to tap into.

Nope, axles dont work on firstgencivics but they do on secondgens. Youll need secondgen hubs, axles and an 88-91 tranny( because itrs the only d that was cable, the integra86-89 works too)Youll need a firstgen wagon caliperbrakets so you can attach 88-91 or newer calipers and rotor. Youll need to throw new fuellines to the tank and also a new pump. There are someother thinngs you need to take into consideration, again, check 1stgencivic( or 1stgenhonda also, its the same site) Itll be of great help ^_^ Keep us posted here:)

Oh and Cipher, 1stgenhonda also covers accords, n600, secondgencivics, but remember to keep posting here so people see our old civics:D

Wow just realized, it was an accord,so I guess you wont need the caliper brakets and the hubpart will be a little different.
