yep....mmhhm.......yep...
Hey guys i am going to the track tonight to run my prelude. I think the track is 1/8 mile. I have 260whp or so. I am turbo charged. What would a good time in the 8th be? Also any driving technics would be a great help. So lets hear them i need all the help i can get. Thanks in advance guys.:d

stay out of the bleach

rev to 3,000 rpms

drop the clutch when the third light starts to fade.

don't miss gears. it's better to shift slower and catch the gears than to miss a gear.

anyone else? help!!! leaving for the track at 5pm

i will let everyone know how it went tomorrow..

yep 8's is right. but i ran 2 low 9's. and a shit load of 10's...lol nobody told me i got to let my turbo cool off after each run. shit i kept running slower after each run. i thought i rip one of my i/c couplings and was leaking boost or something. then this lil'o' lady that was out there running this old firebird said are you letting her cool off between runs. i say no mam i am not. so i let it cool off a little bit and tada!!!! back to low nines. i really think i can run 8's though just need a little bit of practice. so any other info that i can use? going out there again this weekend. that was WAY BETTER THAN STREET RACING!!!! AND MUCH SAFER TOO.....

DOES ANYONE ON HERE GO TO THE TEXAS RACEWAY IN KENNEDALE,TX?>?????

congrats. sounds like you got the bug.

and yes dummy, you have to let your engine rest a little bit. i'm surprised you were able to turn around and race again. i've never been to an open track day where i didn't have at least 20 minutes waiting to race.

it was test and tune night. and it was a wed. night. longest i had to wait was 10 min. or so. but yeah i got the bug. that was sooooo much fun. i am going to find out when importnight is and go up there. everything i raced was running low 7's. mostly muscle cars running race gas.

what size wheels are you running?

get slicks (or drag radials), an lsd, traction bar....you may be spinning the wheels a lot. what rpm did you launch at?

whats a good 60ft. time? in the 1/8th mile?

60ft is 60ft no matter what the length of the track lol. but yea sub 2s is good. Glad you had fun. I can't wait to get the Camaro and the GSX-R out there. gonna be a long time before the Si makes a trip down the 1320.

17" knoig wheels. generic tires, but they are made by cooper. yes i was spinng alot. i launched at differant rpm's. my best is when i launch at 3500 or 4000 rpm. then i dont spin as much.

smaller wheels with more sidewall on the tires, and then aired down to 20-25 psi. should be able to get down to a 2.1 with a real good launch. to get a 60 ft of 2 seconds or less you will need lsd, slicks or drag radials, and possibly traction bars.

2.2-2.3 seems to be about as fast as you can get for fwd hondas on street tires and no lsd. at least from what i have seen.

did you launch at 3000 rpm's like suggested?

sacrificing rpm's to get traction will hlep much more in the long run.
