I just a 91 hatch with a dohc obd1 zc with a boost kit. i just did a full OEM rebuild. My set up is a egay 50 trim with dsm 450's and FMU and front mount. my question is how much boost can i run safely with a fresh oem rebuild. my ecu is tuned with a sst chip tuned on chrome on 11lbs, is this safe?? any feedback on boosted zc's would awesome.....thanks

You can run 8 maybe 9 Psi with a OEM setup, you can run 11 PSI, but you should tune it really good. I would just do 7 psi if it's a daily driver and the engine hasn't been broken in yet, or 9 PSI if the engine has been broken in. 7 or 8 PSI is a good setup. The set limit for the ZC is 250 HP and 9 PSI safely. It's all up to you.

you obviously have NO idea about turbocharging.

if you have crome, why do you have an fmu at all? remove that.
well i dont have a fuel preasure regulator, all i have for fuel is the dsm 450's.
also the motor has not been broken in yet i just got the head back from the machine shop today and hopefully tomorrow ill have it all ready for the motor to be dropped in.

i agree.

Ive been down this lane. Its not about how much boost, its about what your power goal will be, whats the dynamic compression and other variables. Talk to a tuner and let them decide whats best for your car when they finish the tune.

And btw OP, you need to upgrade your fuel pump with those injectors. Walboro 255lph is good for those size injectors.

Boost pressure has a lot to do with what the engine can handle, because you add pressure to the motor. Even if it is a little T25 turbo with 9 PSI if you turn it up to 14 PSI and don't tune it right it will blow, before you make 250 HP. Break the motor in for at least 1,000 miles before you boost it, or you will just break period. For the ZC it's either 250 HP or 9 PSI, which ever comes first. It's simple, I've learned from the best tuners, boost = more pressure, more pressure = more stress on the engine. It don't matter how much hp you make if you are running a shit load of boost, you'll blow up.

you CAN NOT make 250whp unless you have a very good tune!!! and alot more than just a turbo. you need injectors fuel pump chipped ecu and that is just to start with. i know this from trial and error!!!

lol, no.

again, you don't have a clue about turbo charging.

lol this poor guy is getting all kinds a bashed on all over HS..lol:whatafucktard:
Anyway, an update on my build, Head is on and yesterday we put the timing belt on and timing set perfect, then relized i forgot the timing belt cover and had to ripp the belt back off, and had to take the exhuast cam gear off, then when i went to put the cam gear back on the damn bolt broke, so that stopped me for now, i have now got the bolt i need, so hopefully here in about an hour ill be heading to the shop today. Im hoping ill have everything assembled on the engine stand and ready to be dropped back in.:D

I'm sure you know a lot, but show me. You all are fucking ricers! It's not that fucking complicated, with the ZC DOHC, you can put 250 HP (not 250 WHP) at it or 9 PSI. I know this from experience and others. Of course you need upgraded fuel system, but it's all about tuning everyone knows that except you guys. Now I know what everyone says that this full of RICERS and it's the worst honda forum around. You say I'm wrong, but you don't say why, that proves you don't know shit.

you're right, i know NOTHING about turbocharging.

thats a cool sheep's horn manifold........ everyone knows psi is same as hp. but not whp....lol

even that statement is wrong.

psi is the measurement of pressure at the map sensor. nothing more. it DOES NOT equate in ANYWAY to horsepower. torque, etc without other known factors, such as the particular turbo's cfm rate at what surge limit and all the rest

hense the lol........ i dont see how 250hp and or 9 psi makes any sense.......lol:ph34r:

this thread makes me Lol everytime i read it.

If 250hp = 9psi.
Damn that must mean thats like 27.8 hp per psi! OMFG so my 19psi setup is really making 528.2 hp?! HOLY SHIT.

Dumbass. Not all turbos put out the same amount of pressure. otherwise why would they make larger turbos and smaller ones?

ZCHONDACRX91: You say were all ricers, wheres the proof you have any knowledge or experience at all? Just because you search on the internet doesnt mean you know anything. Lets see what your car looks like.

and B, damn.. i didnt know how sick your ride was.

+rep :)

Yeah its funny how people think psi is same as hp. There are so many variables involved. Iam new to turbo shit. But i have done alot of research and its not hard to get the jist of it. People need to reed and learn instead of trying to sound like a fucking fast & furious movie................. yeah spelling sucks. to lazy to fix

she was short lived.... lol the block i bought used was toast (main bearings where shot) and i just gave up on it and parted it out, threw a b16 in the car and sold the car for an sti.
