The motor in my sunroof went bad does anyone know how hard it is to change or how to change it

ummm not sure when i hit the switch it sounds like its trying to open but nothing happens

..is grounded.
there are two actuators; one that opens the roof and one that closes it. so there you go. the motor's fine, the actuator's crap, and if i recall due to the amount of plastic involved, those are pretty much not fixable (at least in any permanent way). best bet might be to buy a replacement assembly off of someone parting out their car.

if you help it along will it move? and is it slow moving im both directions? if so then its most likely the motor that went bad. and there is only one of those. unfortunately its kind of a pain in the dick and you have to drop the headliner in order to replace it.

sounds like the motor is working. the actuator isn't moving the panel. but whatever.
that part's for sure, and the only way you'll actually see wtf is going on.

ok it doesnt move at all before it stopped working entirely i had to help it
