resistor box removal?

i know im soposed to remove the box to use obd1 injectors, but how? ive read to unplug and solder the wires together, but that seems odd, to just solder 5 wires together as 1, is this how its done or do i solder them together seperatly by color?? and also will obd1 injectors just plug into my 89 si harness??

cut the 5 wires at the green connector that plugs into the resistor box - connect all four of the red/black wires (that go from the resistor box to each injector) to the yellow/black wire coming from the round 8-pin connector

yes the OBD0 clips will plug into the OBD1 injectors

wrong.....obd 1 injectors require obd1 clips. obd 0 will not fit them

i have done at least a dozen OBD0 to OBD1 conversions and never changed the clips - just plug right in

obd 0 clips wont fit obd1 injectors....been there , swapped that. done

well i mean i just went into my garage...took obd 0 clips i cut off my 90 si when i did my swap and attempted to clip them on the obd 1 injectors on my d16y....dont fit

D16Y7 and D16Y8 have OBD2 injectors which won't work with OBD0/OBD1 clips

yes the OBD0 clips will plug into the OBD1 injectors

why would you splice into a wire on the other plug. all you need to do is take all 5 wires in that green plug and solder them together.

and yes, jlicrx is correct, obd0 injector clips will work on obd1 injectors.. with some slight modification. you have to take an exacto blade and remove a notch or two from the inside of each clip so that it will slide onto the obd1 injector.
