I have a 98 civic ex and i was wondering what i would need in order to do a complete swap from a stock engine to a k20a3. I bought the motor and the 5 speed tranny off of my friend for $700. And i wanted to know around how much i would have to pay for the labor...

WOW $700 is the BEST DEAL EVER!!! I thought getting my B18b swap for $800 was a steal. Ok sorry but that is a great buy even if it is just the lesser K20a3. Hasport has all your K swap needs covered. Give them a call and they can answer all your questions and supply the parts needed to fit the motor into the EK. Parts needed, swap header, swap mounts, Kpro ECU, swap axles, cable shifter linkage, Hasport modified engine harness and Im sure there is more but I have never done this swap. Good luck.

I said it before, The K20a3 is still not worth it. There is just way too much work and money involved just to get it into the EK chassis for its lack of potential.

agreed

The K swap is as simple as the B swap thanks to Hasport. The a3 makes 160hp and he got it for $700. Thats great deal imo, better than paying $1500 for a B16 making the same hp and less torque. Granted the a2 is has the better I-Vtec head. There is plent of power to be made with the a3 and with it being in a Civic Si ther is no shortage in parts. I love my buddies RSX with the K20a3. It pulls hard and feels stronge compaired to a B16.

pretty sure he said it was an EX. IDK, it is a lot of cash. yea it cost less than a B16 swap motor V motor but how about everything needed to get it in and running. B swap wins that match.

K-series is as easy as a B-series??? You don't sound like you have a clue.

Yes hasport and hybrid racing make mounts, but you need need alot more then mounts. K-series engines sit on the other side of the engine bay from a B-series for starters so none of the stock lines are gonna work, HR wiring harness, header, custom exhaust, Kpro ($995) or K-tuned bypass, Karcepts shifter kit etc etc the list goes on.

For the same amount of money you'd spend just getting it into an EK, you could build up a nice B20vtec that bolts in.
