Ive been told by a handful of people that Tuners with the knowledge to tune Hondata can tune Neptune as well because all Neptune is is basically a cheaper version of Hondata built off pretty much the same technology...:confused:

I plan to call around and find out, but i figured id post this incase someone has an answer and another member could use the information.

Thanks

Hondata can not tune Neptune so to say; they're(Neptune, Crome, eCtune, etc.) all just computer programs. If you have a "Neptune" ECU(which is just a map created by Neptune), and use Hondata, etc. it'll just erase whatever map is on there. When you buy Neptune RTP, all it is, is a chip emulator and software licensing fee.

Wait, so your saying i already paid the software licensing fee since i have the RTP installed?

sweet i just saved 100$ on a new tune lol.

Im tryin to find a new tuner and all shops want $450 +100$ license fee but since i already have that taken care of :D

there's only a handful of neptune guys out there. odds are, you'll have to get the full hondata system (or at least enough to run it on your own ecu)

I have no clue as far as that goes; but I'd say no(usually the software/computer has to be registered or something). The RTP system(at least their latest one) is actually from Moates(Demon chip), it's just a real-time emulation/usb hardware. Has nothing to do with the software.

The $450+$100 is a rip-off btw. RTP Demon retails for $399 from HRT themselves and with that price:
This package includes one Demon unit (Pictured above) and one software license for the NepTune tuning software.

Hondata != Neptune.

Everyone tunes hondata, but good luck trying to find someone to tune your neptune.

What im saying is, Ive looked into other shops that tune Neptune, because yes there are a handful of tuners that can do it and they all want to charge 450$ to tune neptune plus an additional licensing fee. Not sure if they mean thats to buy and tune it from them, or to have them just tune the software, no clue.

I think im gonna go with Crome, i have a buddy around here whos been tuning on crome for like 5 or 6 years and does alot of friends cars, and he know how to tune boost. Worth switching? and im guessing id need a new ECU?

Oh and i found a used Hondata s200 on craigslist for 50$, could i use that to run with boost? or no.

Can you get it programed or have the option added on? or is the a if it doesnt havent.. it cant get it sort of thing.
