-Glyph External Drive
-Peachtree Audio Tube Amp
-Logitec keyboard/touchpad (via bluetooth)
-Shared Netflix Subscription

He just got this entire thing setup last weekend. Very badass setup that only costs $45 per month (internet connection), definitely the best way to entertain guests as you have total ctrl over the content in your lvngrm.

ahh my 360 plays music/video/pics... i have the wii to browse the web.

Either way, this was my first time sitting in a lvngrm where online content, not tv content, was so easily accessible. I am in the process of setting up my place like this.

despite my mac-hate it is a great idea nonetheless. feels good though doesnt it? instead of flipping channels you instantly can turn on whatever you want to watch at anytime.

ill never buy into cable again.

My buddy has the same set up but PC Its a tiny little box and external hard drive

He gets on shared sites and fins tons of decent quality movies and events (like MMA)
transfer with flash car and its on his 46" Much better then $50+ a pop for PPV

I really want someone to partner up with Hulu. I want on demand damn it. Its stupid to have to schedual time around a TV show. And untill DVRs start comming with a terabyte worth of storage I wont be happy with them.

hulu blows. i look once a week and end up getting pissed off and leaving. fuck that site.

netflix streaming is ok. i wish they had more variety available to stream though

The mac also holds music and is used to browse the web. Yes i know an xbawx also does this but not everyone plays video games.

The funny part: $300 for the xb360 or $2,000 for a mac, right? Hell a PS3 and the 360 will work the same for so much cheaper, still he's got an awesome setup none the less.

My setup is modeled after my brothers. He can browse on his wii, desktop or 360 on his tv.

only? HP Mini's with xp are under 500 with a 10.1" screen, 160gig harddrive and a shitton of other stuff.

I hooked my TV to my PC about a year ago. I rarely watch TV and never pay for programming.

I LOVE the idea of Hulu, but the lack of content is disappointing. I hate having to search Hulu, then Youtube shows, then Fancast, etc.

It'd be nice if one site (cough google cough) had the resources to put all the content together in one place and make it easily searchable, and have the ability to filter based on picture quality (like 720p or higher).

Sweet setup, I have almost that exact TV. Mine's LCD, not sure what that one is, "flatscreen" I guess :)

I know its a samsung, picture quality is really really good.

My friend shares a netflix subscription with a few other people who all use the same login info. I also recommended using the minimac to dl/seed torrent files. . . .

Most of my media comes from torrents. The rest from free streaming sites. I refuse to pay for anything but bandwidth.

Man. I have been doing this for some time. I rarely watch TV at all. I only get local channels anyway. Plus I watch shows mostly out of the USA content. You matterwise build a computer connected to a NICE HDTV LCD TV to boot. Building a computer is also a fun hobby. Pretty much endless stuff you can add to it to make some out of the box cry. Now try to network every computer in the house hold is another fun thing to do. Pretty fun. But its much safer to have standalone computers than together. LOL imagine you have to keep updating software and all. If you want games, There are lots of free programs as well. I use to like to play Stepmania and other musical games back in the day. It makes Acrade machines look boring. yep I have not regret investing my PC as one media station.

Did you try netflix HD streaming? Anytime I stream anything its instant. ZERO waiting.

To the OP, how does he get internet?
