Yo, i got a 91 hatch with a JDM ZC motor in it and here is the problem im having. My car is backfiring and running really bad and i already got new plugs and wires did the timing and everything the is involed with timing. I advanced the dizzy all the way and it fixed it for a couple days. I cant think of what it is. Valves maybe i dont know please help.

Any CEL's? When does it make these burps and back fires? At idle?

Give as much info as possible and make sure to add something tomorrow (reply) when more
people are on the site and it can be put to the top of the new posts

it backfires pretty much all the time. more when i hit the gas. im not super good with cars so im not sure what alot of shit is called yet. Uhm i also made sure that the firing order was correct. 1342. i might be able to take a video of it making the noise when its sitting in a parking spot if i can get some help.

you need to double check your crank and camshaft timing.
how is the fuel mileage?
maybe your injectors are leaky

ok ill double check the timing the fuel mileage seemed bad after i advanced the dizzy but not super bad, how to i check for leaky injectors an easy way lol.

are you sure that the spark plug wires are in the correct locations on the distributor cap? - the DOHC ZC is not the same as SOHC

SOHC:
3 4
1 2

DOHC:
1 3
2 4

Why does everyone give up on my threads so fast. i get like one reply and then nothing lol. Anyone know a more active forum?

what distributor are you running? Have you moved the cam position sensor at all? I had a problem like that about a year ago and it was an electrical problem with a splice under the intake manifold. If I can remember more details i will post again later.
