Like the heading states, I'm payed by the hour but I have all the duties of a service manager plus I work in the shop and field. It's really driving me insane working for the current employer. I'm being pulled from all departments to get shit fixed and I'm about to blow a head gasket!! They don't have the propper tools for the job, the service trucks have to be repaired on the way to the job, they don't pay enough, and the thing that tops it off is this poor economy! There are no other jobs in this stupid city for this kind of work. I'm starting to think that jobless might be a better option. I'm not looking to move b/c I like it here but there are jobs available in other cities, I've had offers but turned them down. AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!

Is this a rant or is there a question?

I guess those are your options then. You can try demanding a raise, but if they havnt given you one already then it probably wont happen. But its better than nothing.

I guess I just want to know if anyone else has been or is in this situation.

alot of us are. sometimes you just have to suck it up. BUT if its obvoius your getting used and are extremely under-paid then demand a raise or you might have to start looking somewhere else. If they call your bluff them stay. if not you got yourself a raise.

are we talking about $5 hour off or $10 off? If you dont need the money then hold off until you find a better job.

I'm half owner, but also the bitch boy. I do 100% of every ounce of labor on a job + half the administrative duties.

Instead of complaining about the extra things you are doing around your job....just do them....its the people that go above and beyond that stand out come raise or promotion time...its tough out there for employees and employers...use this to your advantage...keep track of the extra things you are doing and when it comes review time...show them...."here is what i have been doing since i have been here"...

If you're half-way between management, and underlings, you've got a good thing going.

Just keep doing, and gradually assuming managerial duties. That's how people wind up in upper management.
