nothing new there.... they've always been based off birth year and month and then some random digits

lol my friend tim's ssn is funny... it has 666 in it, and four zeros in a row.. people think he's an illegal all the time it so funny man

With fewer than 1,000 attempts, they could identify the entire nine digits for 8.5 percent of the group.

Move along, nothing to see here. Srsly. They can guess them. Nothing new. Every state is divided up, and if you can get that, you've got the first 3 digits. Then it's just estimating the date of birth/issue, which will give you a range, after that it's just guessing until you get it right. They're using a brute-force attack on something that isn't susceptible to a brute force attack. lol.

I know someone whose ssn repeats itself. First four and last four are the same. Heh.

My Fathers is the easiest to remember there is only 2 numbers used in it. His aunt worked at the SSN dept when he was born and issued him that number.

I've had to give mine out to so many different creditors and jobs that I have mine memorized, like I do my drivers license number (around here at least you gotta put that on a check when you order a pizza for delivery).

mine is retarded to remember..so i just look at my military id

How can you not have your ssn memorized?

YOU've either:

a. never applied for a job
b. never been to court
c. never done your taxes
d. never applied for a drivers license
e. never called time warner customer service
