hello people, i just traded for a 00 civic si, problem im not sure what motor it has in it, it says on engine b16a but how do i know if its obd0 or obd1 cause i know its a jdm motor cause the stock usdm b16 blew up and it got replaced with the jdm motor b16a i know on the dissy the plugs are obd2 plugs but i dont think the enigne is obd2 cause there is a few plugs on the harness not hooked up to nothing. and i new to dohc engines so im still learning but this swap is confuseing also im running stock obd2 p2t i think ecu its the stock 00 civic si ecu, my question is how dose the engine run? cause i was told the engine is obd0 but i really dont this its obd0 i think its obd1. but who know tell me what you guys think and what i should to to try to identify the swap, im so confused. reason why im trying to figure all this out is cause i want to hook up my reverse light switch but i cant find the plug on the harness i belive the harness is still the stock si harness not 100% sure. i have pic of my new ride in my albums so check em out and if any one could help me on my problem or give me some ideas of what i should do please let me know.

I would say OBd2... I dont think it matters what year the motor is really, but best bet is trial and error haha j/k

ok so i went and started the motor today it act like it didnt want to run till it got warmed up i think it may be out of time.

what ecu do you guys think i should be running?

is there any one that has swaped an obd0 motor in to there obd2 car? what are the differnce in the jdm motor and the usdm i hear jdm has more power cause of higher compression or something, correct me if i wrong i new to dohc engines.

there should be 3 circles above the exhaust mani, they will have numb ers on them, i think the one closest to the timing belt will tell the year. 88-91 is obd0..

also, the obd of the engine can be changed just by swapping the dizzy and adding a resistor box for the injectors so if the sticker on the dizzy reads TD22 then its obd0

it dose have the obd0 injectors i belive cause it seems to have the plugs cut and tapped up

my question is if it has obd0 injectors how can i run obd2 stock si ecu. the car is running very rich how do i fix that do i need to run stock si injectors or do i need to get another ecu and have it chipped for the motor ?

why would i have an extra wire comming out of the dissy its not hooked up to nothing just a wire comming out could that be the old wire for the tach? cause it has holes in the dash where an old tach use to be.

so i guess the reason why im running rich is cause i dont have a o2 sensor hooked up. would this make me run rich and i went to plug up the o2 sensor it just made my car run like crap. and it dose have obd2 dissy on it.

Got pictures of all this? Dizzy? Exauhst Mani, ect :) im sure some of the fine people here could tell ya all ya need to know with the parts :) hehe

i got some pics of car and some of engine in my albums but not good close up pics of the motor just. but you can see the whole engine bay in a couple pics, im thinking of just selling this engine and geting me an obd2 b16 engine if i cant figure stuff out on this engine

like i stated before the only diffrence of the obd1 and obd0 b16s are the dizzy and injectors they use, you can make any b16 any obd that you want, the newer ones have more compression and diffrent oil rails but thats about it, only 10hp diffrence. im thinking someone swapped in bigger injectors than stock and thats why its running rich..

it looks like the stock injectors for the civic si and obd2 plugs on injectors it has a round fuel rail tho not the rectangle fuel rail i dont think that will make a differnce
when i hooked up the o2 sensor and started the car it would start up fine then just die. so i unpluged it and started it and it ran fine. also how do i adjust the timming, i thought when you move the distributor it changes the time well i tryed moving the dissy and it made no differnce to the motor.

what ecu should i run or should i get a chipped one? and what colors are the o2 sensor wires on the harness and what colors are the reverse light wires on the harness?
if any one knows please let me know trying to get this car ready for inspection haha.

Have u gotten a Hanyes Manual?? IT tells u in the back of it what color wire ya are looking for, mines yellow off the trany lol... Um I snag my freinds 00si tomarrow if u can wait that long also I can tell u what his dizzy / fuel rails ect look like by taking a picture for u

Your #1 Injector (Brown) goes to pin B11; #2 Injector (Red), B3; #3 Injector (Blue), B4; and the #4 Injector (Yellow), B5. After that there are the Yel/Blk wires on each injector that runs to JC - C116 connector (on the rear of your engine). I hope this helps, it came from a very reliable source.
