need help on picking a motor for my civic

i am looking for a reliable motor for my 2002 honda civic dx it has the stock 1.7 in it and i am wondering which motor i could switch to to have more power and more optoins to mod it out but i need it as a daily driver please be specific because it is my first tuner biuld

It's an 02 Civic. You don't swap B-series into that chassis. K-series is pretty much the only option here, or boost the stock engine...

i agree, a k swap is the only real option you have, and they are pricey. the cheaper way to make your car quick would be boosting what youve got. or trade it for a older chassis thats easier to do a b series swap into.

Or he could always upgrade to an RSX type S, it'd be cheaper than putting a K series into his current car.

If its gonna be your dd just throw a decent turbo on it and rock with that. It would be cheaper than a swap and you'll feel a sense of pride everytime you hear that blow-off valve lol. I would only do the swap if it wasn't my dd 'cause there is no way i would have a k-series motor in a dd without wanting to mod it which would then grow from being my dd...just my 2 cents. BTW is it a 4dr or a coup?

Wouldn't be worth it. Everything would have to be custom (mounts, wiring, etc.). The only thing you can really swap into those cars easily is K-series engines...

yeah ther is a thread somw where as of now iam pushing about 279whp. But iam running low boost. Next month i am getting my ram horn mani and a 3bar map. Then i will be at 450-500whp. My engine is fully built. And lots of other mods. Got a few pics on my profile.....

the best engine is either a b18c or H22A there the top of there series and are capable of making big power with mods. Me personally would go with H22A but thats just me
