I just got a eg hatch with a ls turbo set up,im new to the turbo game i never had a turbo car before so im not to fimilare with any of it.The problem is when running the car out in rpm it falls on its face at around 5500 rpm,ive talked to some people and they said check for boost leaks, and i have there are none but a very small one at the blow off valve.would this cause it to fall dead on its face at 5500 rpms,or could it be some thing else, another guy told me it could be the dizzy, but the rpms dont jump around,i got the car on a pretty good,it dont smoke ,the tranny shifts like butter and the car is in pretty good shape. The motor is stock, turbo is a t3,boost is 10 psi,and was told it was tunned with neptune, launch control at 3000,any help would be very appretiated

You were told it was tuned? Id definitely have that map checked to be sure it has been tuned. Sounds like its running lean

no, you need to take it to a shop and have them plug it in. and see what map is burned on it. i wouldnt drive it till then or you could detonate

Its probably in the tuning itself. However on my boosted car when my distributor was starting to take a shit the same thing would happen. I kept thinking it was detonation, but it wasnt going lean and I pulled out more then enough timing. Finally I replaced the distributor and problem solved.

remember guys, if he has a oem map sensor it will only read to around 10-11psi. if his map sensor is seeing a bit more than that boost, that could also make his car freak out.

i went t o take it to get retuned and the s.o.b. wont even start ,so i got a dizzy ,and it still wont start,i took the p06 thats in it out and just threw in a p72 to see if it would even start and it does but runs like shit,go figure huh,do the ecus go bad or did it loose the tune i have no idea can anybody give me any type of advice as far as what to do to get it to get tuned ,other than getting it towed 50 freakin miles, idk what to do now this things really startin to piss me off,can somebody help, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thanks, and no i dont need smart ass remarks either just help

You're not going to get smartass remarks if you ask nicely.

From the sound of it, the p06 is garbage though.

I agree with matt. If it will start on the other ecu but not the p06 then that has to be the problem. Find another socketed ecu and put your chip in and see how it runs. Sometimes when people are socketing the ecu they dont do the greatest job and down the road a pin can lose contact or have a bad connection. It only takes one pin to cause serious problems.

What map sensor are you running? And when you say fall on its face, do you mean it runs shitty, or is there a sudden cut? If your running on your stock map sensor, im guessing your experiencing boost cut. Phearable.net is a good site to check out, hes a local tuner in my area, my brothers car was tuned by him. His names John Vega.

its a stock map sensor, and yea it hits a cut ,i mean 5500 and thats it ,but if you ease it it will go to 7200,but yea when you get down on it it just cuts out,do you think a boost controller may help that issue, its a internal wastegate and from what i hear you can only adjust them with boost controllers, but i hear that you cant take them down in boost only up?When it hits the cut its boostin around 9.5 on my gauge.

You need to upgrade your map sensor bro, the reason it cuts when you get on it hard is because it reaching the max pressure the map can read and it thinks there is a problem. To turn the boost up on your internally gated turbo you do need a boost controller, but you cant go any higher until you upgrade your map sensor. I do beleive there is a spacer you can make or buy and it will allow your map to read a little more, but its not really reading more, its just tricking your ECU into thinking its less.

A boost controller will help if you turn the boost down, but if i were you, I wold upgrade the stock map sensor, and get it tuned right. Dyno tunes are great, but make sure you get some street tuning for partial throttle tuning, its not all about wide open throttle! After all, your not always at WOT!

A boost controller will help if you turn the boost down,

Boost controllers will not decrease the amount of boost. They can only go up from the stock spring rating. Say you have a 10psi spring in a wastegate, the MINIMUM amount you can run is 10psi.

And, just for kicks, a wastegate spring will usually stretch about twice it's original setting before reliability becomes questionable.
