What head are you going to use?
FI: which one supercharger or turbo?
rough budget estimate? 3k~6k what?
How much power are you looking for? 300hp? ~400hp? And what to the crank? To the wheels?

Not sure what you mean. You want a Type R head...either that or you mean you want it to be like a Type R head, don't want to speak for you so please clarify, in which case you can Port and Polish(google that) the head for it to flow like one.

K so by boost i'm guessing turbo. Even still, your opening up a can of worms with such a general question, because everything i am about to type is subject to criticism and debate, but fuck it, here we go.

I'd say start with a basic I/H/E upgrade, then maybe a street tune or something to wet your whistle. Then i'd say (since you want lots of power) sleeve your block(google that) and put aftermarket pistons and rods (forged) Then i would get the head Port and Polished like i said earlier, upgrade the valvetrain, cam gears ect, get maybe a gt35 turbo and tune every step of the way. Oh yeah, and pick the right tranny for your powerband.

Again, this is an extreemly general answer to an extreemly general question. I took a wild shot in the dark answering this based upon me assuming you know what i'm talking about.

As a side note, i've finally answered one of mine...questions that is. I always wondered why people never posted replys when i asked these sort of questions, and now i see why, its because they don't wanna get flamed for answering general questions qith general answers lol.

So please, read as much as you can about forced induction, building a block and headwork. Also about transmissions and gearing. Good luck with your build and remember, people might get annoyed from you asking a question, but i've never seen an article that didn't want anybody reading it:cool:
 
actually that helped probably more than u think (i started writing wit caps again then deleted it lol) i am getting a b16 head and i am trying to get the head type r, an by boost i ment turbo. thanks for the help if you could keep giving suuggestions that would be great :D
 
your first question mentioned how to build your block, a VTEC head doesn't really breathe until it reaches higher RPM than a stock LS block is capable of handling for daily driving.

having never done this but wanting to save you the anguish of a windowed block, you will need to upgrade your rotating assembly to handle the higher RPM, ARP main and rod bolts are a good start, better bearings? do some research on that, upgraded rods? couldn't hurt, and try to use the VTEC oil and water pumps also, I don't know if they work like they would on a mini-me, but again research is your friend.

your very best bet is to try and find someone who has built a reliable LS/VTEC and get advice/help from an actual person who has done this before.

or do the ultra smart move and just buy a GSR/B16 block and not have any worries, if you do it right you should have a pretty quick crx.
 
Something to consider here. A non-turbo engine and a turbo engine need to be set up differently. If you want to go turbo, then worry about setting up the engine for boost and DON'T worry about how much power you can make before the turbo goes on. You don't build your engine up to maximum horsepower and then add turbo, it just doesn't work that way...
