My dads co-workers girlfriends car spun a bearing so I swapped them in a new D16Y7. It drives great, idles like crap and it has a CEL. I have access to a OBD2 scanner but I don't know where to plug it into. I'll start with the code then go from there.

Also I couldn't find the bleeder for the coolant system so that could be part of the idle problem.

And Hondas over 1995 SUCK MY HAIRY LEFT KNUTT!! Shitty motors, hard to work on and not as reliable. My EF with 270,000 miles hits 6500 RPM and a D16Y7 that has 70,000 miles that hits 3000 RPM spins a bearing. The owner, a girl, has owned it from new in '99 and does EXACTLY what her manual says, also with every service @ Honda. WTF is up with that?

Now where do I plug in the code reader? :D

There is a plug for it on the driver's side under the console, almost next to the hood release cable.

its the same, just jump the wires together thats in the plug on the passenger side. it will be a small 2 wire plug. long flash = 10s fast =1s
