hey guys im building a ls/vtec for my 97 integra ls,it will consist of a b18a block and a 97 gsr head. i was thinking about stroking it out to a 2.0L using a eagle rod kit, however i have had some ppl tell me that by stroking it i will blow the motor if i rev it to 9000 rpms. i am just looking for advise from anyone with experiense or knowlage on the subject of stroker kits, thx in advance

You're really wasting your time with a stroker kit. The gains are minimal in comparison to the cost. Not to mention, not too many people do it so reliability is questionable and, just like you said, nobody really knows just how far you can push the engine.

If you must, your best bet is to have the engine assembled at a machine shop. Have the entire bottom end balanced and blueprinted, which will ensure that you can rev to an efficient RPM range. Remember, it's not useful to rev an engine further than the point at which it stops making more power.

My advice:
Your money would be much better spent on a turbo kit and some rods and pistons. You would see more power and potential for even more.

thats what i would say get a turbo or get a b20 bottom end don't waste the money

Buying a B20 block would be wasting money when he could just bore his LS to 84mm.

I agree on Rods/Pistons/ARP Rod bolts/ turbo set up

isnt a b20 a 2.0L? so whats the difference in using a b20 crank and rods or a stroked b18 crank and rods? thx for the advise so far guys
