alright guys im starting off with a 91 si. the head is blown in the d16 so i picked up a b18a1 figured i could do a reliable ls swap. ive got the ecu, mounts, shift linkage, a friend has helped me with my wireing harness. i still need a transmission, clutch, and flywheel. im thinking an ys1 and ideas? also the front end was backed into by a truck so now i need a hood, bumper cover, drivers headlight and corner lens. interior is really clean all stock. ive managed to pull it all out and clean up the dust, dye the carpet black. exterior paint is faded origionaly black not sure on color any ideas wanting something original but with some flair. thanks

If you're looking for used replacement parts try here ---> Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

If you have Hasports EFB1 mounts then any cable B-series transmission will work, shorter gearing will give you better acceleration and an LSD would be a good idea too.

Hasport also makes an EFB2 kit for use with hydraulic trannys and hydro-cable adapter.

alright thanks for the link the mounts i have are the haSport efb1. my shift linkage is from them as well. but i got it used through craigslist the bushings are kinda worn thinking about a set of password ones.

hey ive herd that i need to make a dent in the frame rail for altinator clearance is that true? and exactly where about would i be doing it? do i just use a hammer? thanks again

On the driver side shock tower there is a little 1x1 sqaure hole, just below on the frame rail is where you need to massage with the BFH, dont be bashful with it.

lol bang that baby in...also go with energy suspension bushings from ebay..theyre like $16 shipped...

or just put on a smaller belt i think a 30 inch belt will give you clearance without having to hammer the car

It's not that big a deal, I just did it last weekend. Just make sure you have a good sized hammer, when I did it the first time I had to lower the engine in a couple times to test fit it for clearence, ended up with about 1/8" or so.

It was alot easier to lower the engine in after I had removed the front engine mount bracket on the crossmember, along with the battery tray of course.

alright i went ahead and beat the area out to about a 4" circle it looks pretty good now. ive cut out the front end in mine and have put in a torsion bar for more clearence.

Hey! We have the same car!

it took two different owners to the ef i'm picking up to relize that lol so you can see some rubbing for the old ls and b20 that was in it lol :D

Well I hope you didn't pay too much for your car, I payed $1000 for that shell. (The stock D16A6 had a thrown a rod through the block.)

no worries i picked it up for $800 im happy with it so far all the interior is intact. it even came with the original warnings on the seatbelt connector. transmission and engine block had cracks through the bottem. but i ended up with an 1.6 head

so i just picked up a y1 transmission dirty as hell but ill clean it up and give it a coat of paint. not bad for $120 still looking for a drivers headlight corner lenses flywheel and clutch. i think ill get a clutch on ebay i believe their about 90 bucks.

There is a bracket on the front crossmember (right in front of the radiator )for the front mount that does not get used. I would cut it out before u put the motor in.
