I managed to get on Milt Rosenberg's show Extension 720 last night. The discussion was politics and how people think the current administration was doing. Drifted to a generic political discussion and I decided to call in... Only 4 or 5 tries and the screener picked up, asked a few questions, and put me on hold in queue! Milt was trying to see if there was a correlation between age and political views; he'd ask your age and then your opinion. He started off thinking he'd see a clear cut age difference, with young people for Obama and older people against... but it turned out to be a pretty broad spread... No correlation, to which he was surprised.
I took my time to make a general comment on how our candidates of the last few decades practically refuse to acknowledge the concept of liberty... The modern Republican couldn't be more different from their stated original party views, the modern Democrat promising the world and delivering little. No candidates stand for the people themselves any longer, none see liberty and the constitution as their guiding principles. I took the time to mention how I was a registered Independent from 18 years old, but registered Republican to nominate Ron Paul in the primary. Said that he's not perfect, but he's the only candidate who's primary goal was liberty for the American people. That it's a shame that he was alone in that.
At least that was my intention. I called in on the spur of the moment and didn't really expect to go on the air... I kind of fumbled and rambled a bit but I think I got my point across. He wasn't really commenting much on what people were saying, just listening. He gave most a 'Thanks for your call' at the end before going to the next caller, but he gave me a 'Well spoken, thanks for your call'.
Was fun! Can anyone find an archive of 720AM Chicago anywhere? I didn't get a chance to record or hear myself and would love to see how I did.
